"Mind blowing... '4 am' is a classic, one of the nicest songs i have heard in the past decade."(Craig Sharpe-Weir, guitarist of "Icon A.D")

"An interesting and catchy melody, and a brilliant use of altered chords" (Mick Smith, BBC Radio Nottingham, talking about "Dragging My Feet")

"Think Damien Rice, but from Bournemouth and based in Derby"(Park Hall Live Press Release)

Simon Andrews is an acoustic singer/songwriter based in Derby. Origionally from Bournemouth, this mild mannered 24 year old has been gigging his unique brand of "Acoutica" for the past 4 years, in and around the midlands and is somewhat of a household name on the Derby scene. He is a graduate of the Academy of Contemporary music, where he homed his musical talent.

His music has been compared to that of Damien Rice, John Mayer, and even James Taylor. With heart renching lyrics and the raw emotion of Simon's voice, joined with his solid and intricate guitar playing, Simon's songs stand out in what has become a very crowded genre of music.

"More than just a singer/songwriter, Simon Andrews is a musically gifted and lyrically accomplished performer who can captivate an audience withing seconds of playing"(Lee Howes, University of Derby Dusted Magazine)

His debut album, "Far From Home", was released in early 2006 to overwhelming applause. With a collection of heart breaking songs looking at everything from losing a loved one to life as a student, "Far From Home" sold fast with apperances on BBC Radio Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, and Lincon, and there's now only 10 copies left! (so if you havn't already got a copy now's the time.)
If you would like to stay up to date with whats going on in the world of Simon Andrews, please feel free to join his mailing list. To book Simon, or for any other details, please feel free to E-mail him.

"Simon's songs have depth, weight and a future outside of the open mic circuit."(Ali Pow3rs, Derby based musician and organiser of the Union Blue and 5Lamps Open Mics)

as long as it gets done, i dont even own a soldering iron, and all you have to do is sit and watch lol IM doin all the work XD

but its gonna save me £50-£60

annoyed cause i gotta use the shitty spear till the afternoon, as rumors go, roy and steveloaf aren't comin in, so me and ryan are gonna have quality band practice time =] unless a room is DESPERATELY needed, in which case they will be told to fuck off =P

ahh cheers, massive help, and plus i think it would be best if you were watching to be honest, i know kinda what im doing, took the back off and my strings and had a tug, i know where the wires are but soldering's kinda alien to me =S

but im that kinda person that id rather try it myself so i know for future than keep havin to spend money takin it to a shop

and yeah we have done all 3 now so thats a worry off my back, just hope the rest good enough, ill be fuckin devastated if i dont make it, even more so since i fucked school up as well =[
