"His melancholic singer-songwriter fare is a notch above the norm...Having become familiar with some of his songs, particularly the tracks off the Seaside Surprise EP, I was really captivated by his performance."

"...a beautiful and emotive performance. I am sure I am not alone in eagerly awaiting the next live performance as well as seeing what this artist has to offer in the future. " Guestlistmusic.com Ocober 08
"..his songs are good too; harmonious guitar rhythms and some nifty work with a loop pedal producing very listenable folk songs with a touch of pop thrown in, which works well. His sound is well textured and there’s even a touch of suspense and drama to some of his music, which is a commendable thing from just a man and an acoustic guitar." Guestlistmusic.com December 08
"...subty looping guitar parts and pure, reedy vocal lines into a tapestry of pealing melody..." ManchesterMusic.co.uk October 08
"his guitar playing was excellent throughout...building up layer upon layer of guitar to quite brilliant effect." Indiecredential.com February 08
Simon Connor is a Manchester based acoustic artist. His finely crafted songs delivered with a unique style, push him a notch above the hordes of other singer songwriters. Melancholic vocal melodies are intertwined with finger-picked guitar lines and subtle use of multilayered loops, to create a sound which is both intricate and powerful.
The last half of 2008 saw Simon gigging to promote his Seaside Surprise EP around the UK, with sit in sessions for Channel M and BBC Radio Manchester, primarily playing solo acoustic shows and picking up rave reviews along the way. Simon has also began performing his newer material with a small band and live visuals, incorporating loops, samples and three part vocal harmonies, which brings a new level of depth and intricacy to his live shows.
Simon is currently recording material for his follow up EP and for the soundtrack of forthcoming feature film “Welcome to Paradise”, both due for release later this year.

"This is a great introduction which holds a lot of promise
…far too intelligent to just tick the usual guy-with-an-acoustic-guitar boxes."

" ...simple but visually compelling lyrics...matched with his ability to depict the mysterious in a compelling way through his music is surprisingly intriguing. This album is indeed full of surprises and it wouldn't surprise me if there are a few more in the future" Sandman Magazine Oct 08

Svarte Greiner (Deaf Center/Miasmah/Type) explores deep into a dark,
mysterious and disturbing universe. Drawing inspiration from artists
such as Earth, Volcano the Bear, David Darling & Deathprod, the
music is draped in Lynchian mysticism and horror film cinematics. "The
music of Svarte Greiner is practically perfect. It's like that sound in
our heads we've been imagining for ages but had never actually heard."
- Type Records.
The Sight Below (Rafael Anton Irisarri/Miasmah/Immune) draws as much on
modern genre progenitors like Brian Eno, Robin Guthrie and My Bloody
Valentine as it does from the more historic traditions in
neo-classicism from Erik Satie and Olivier Messiaen. His album Glider
has appeared on Thom Yorke's radar in making the Radiohead's lynchpin's
top ten playlist.
His debut album Navigare soon to feature on the Miasmah label, Simon
Scott (former Slowdive) is set to be a household name in conceptual
music. Simon is the former Slowdive drummer, co-producer of Televise,
producer of Seavault, and owner of KESH Recordings label.
