From childhood, Simone has been directly influenced by inspired performers Kristina Olsen, Cath Mundy and Jay Turner. After taking guitar and vocal lessons, she began performing in Cairns at the beginning of 2005.
Simone’s first CD, “Beyond Innocence”, was launched in October 2006. Since then, she has played support roles for Daryl Braithwaite, Jackie Marshall, Kristina Olsen, Loren and Women in Docs. After receiving the Port Fairy Folk Festival’s ‘Best New Talent’ award in March 2007, Simone‘s sights are now set on the national festival circuit.
The beginning of 2008 saw Simone relocate to Brisbane to explore a new and exciting realm of music opportunities. Whilst being based in her new city, she has spent the last few months flying between Cairns and Brisbane music studios to complete her new EP, “Borrowed Wings”, which was launched in August this year.
"Simone’s performances now showcase the strong vocal skills, guitar competence and easy stage presence one would expect from a very experienced performer. I expect to welcome her back as a headline act before too long…" - Mark Both, Festival Director- Yungaburra Folk Festival (2007)
"A great new talent on the Australian singer-songwriter scene … she delivers brilliantly constructed and original songs." - Roz Pappalardo, women in docs (2007)
"Simone is a very captivating performer who radiates an energy that completely fills the space she's in … she effortlessly expresses the emotive nature of her music; all with an infectious smile … She has limitless potential" - Loren (2007)

Thank you.
I have been thinking of you often. in part because i have been meaning to see you and many other's every time i'm in brissie but never make it! All is well, i have come out the other end finally of a bad depression that saw me almost throw eveything in due to the pressure and the realisation that it's always just going to be too bloody hard! tense moment in studio, effecting family harmony. If only i was content just being someone's mother and someone's partner, wouldn't life be so much more simple? sure you've related to this before too. the peace came as i sat in a room with 14 other artists in the same boat, i felt human again and realised it was going to be okay.
i also do hope you are well and playing lots of music, and if not then atleast writing, everything from lyrics to journals to poems, keeping your heart full and releasing the crap that ain't serving you.
hey Simone!!! Had to drop in and listen to your music again, love it!! Hows things and hows bris-vegas treating you?? I was up there a couple of weeks back after trying to make it to cairns and gettting flooded in townsville....not a happy vegemite let me tell you...Will was brilliant in the car though the little gem:)we might be moving to Brissy towards the middle of the year which is exciting for my music because it has to be a better place then Newcastle for it! and i wanted to ask you if you knew of any good agents?? i thought youd be the perfect person to ask and this will save me the trouble of sorting through the bullshit artists (which there are alot of in Newy) so if you know of anyone let me know if notthen its not a worry:) Id love to come and see you play ill be in toowoomba at the country music rush 20-21st march so if your playing sometime that weekend i will have to come and see you!! Take care chicky:Dxo
