A little about Simon Jaymes
SIMON JAYMES was born in Pembury, Kent, and raised in East Sussex, UK, on martial arts, singing in the choir and asthma pumps. He moved to London when 14 years old to attend The Sylvia Young Theatre School after garnering interest from playing the juvenile leads in both 'Conversations with my father' directed by Alan Ayckbourne, (The Old Vic) and The New Shakespeare Company's 'The Music Man'. At the age of 16 he trained with 'Rambert' in Ballet & Contemporary dance, where he also first took an interest in playing the guitar and song writing his crooked little heart out for peace and peanuts.
Simons career to date has mostly consisted of traveling the world dancing and acting with various companies including Matthew Bourne's New Adventure Motion Pictures and Tetsuya Kumakawa's K-Ballet Company (Japan). He also appeared in: 'The Beautiful Game by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ben Elton and in Cameron Mackintosh's Production of 'OLIVER!' at the London Palladium, plus appearing as both a featured and supporting artist in various TV programs and films.
The latest news is that Simon will be recording his debut album in Richard Bundy's 'Chicken shed' and at the 'Monkey Puzzle House' in January 2009.
Whilst continuing to gig around London and the UK he has also tampered with Sweden, Thailand and Japan's clubs, bars, hotel rooms and toilets and is becoming a very well respected songwriter on the songwriting circuit.
