Since signing the Perspectives album to Nashville Noir I've been working on some acoustic material for the next project and have posted 'Orange moon' as my new fifth track replacing 'Waiting for the call' which is on the album. Let me know what you think

Burke Shelley - You Owe Pete Boot One HELL of an Apology!!!

To say I am simply MAD after reading the below article is an understatement. No, I AM absolutely IRATE!!

Shelley your attack on Pete Boot was totally un-warranted. I will stand up and speak for Pete Boot because I sure doesn't look like anyone else is going to! The above is a record of history which is FULL of falsehoods. I will set forth for the same record of history not the words of a Budgie fan or friend, but the words of someone who was there and what follows is a testament to the REAL truth of the situation.

I'm going to stop here! Before ANYONE sends me a reply or email they don't want to see this sort of thing from a bunch of nobodies, DO NOT do that! Simply delete me from your list of friends cause you ain't a friend of mine. I am NOT here to make friends! I am here to be there for my friends! If even ONE SINGLE person sends me even ONE piece of hate mail on your this topic, I will personally go before GOD ALMIGHTY himself and request for a grizzly death to be your END destiny. This includes you Tom B., so don't even think of contacting me EVER via the phone or internet!

Believe me Burke, I'm holding back from sayin' what should be said, but it is NOT easy! Pete Boot is a VERY close personal friend of mine. To call Pete a n***y, person, much less a st****r is going TOO far, you just dug your grave with those words. EVERYTHING stated in the above quote you made is a complete load of crap. Pete has NEVER said anything bad, not one single word about you that I ever heard. And he has ABSOLUTELY NO reason to!

It has NOT been Pete that exploited his connection with Budgie, it has everyone else that exploits all they can from anyone for a buck.

On the topic of money:

So the seeds of distrust were there. You know, when we did Norway, every fuckin' night Burke was in a hotel and the rest of us used to sleep in the van! I said Tony, this is wrong this is. So I said to Burke, one of us goes into the hotel, but we alternate including the road crew. When Judas Priest supported Budgie I chose to travel with them cos it was more fun. The only regret I've got is that I didn't push hard enough under the name of Budgie. Here we are 20 or 30 years later on and you look back and think of some of the mistakes you may have made and I didn't milk the Budgie name enough afterwards."

Now let me set the history books straight about Pete Boot as I know him. Now Pete came to Texas on April 12, 2003 for a vacation, but also specifically to jam with me. I called Carl Studevos, who you can see in the pictures, to play bass. Fact number ONE is Pete was from a technical standpoint, the best drummer I ever played with. I have known Carl since Middle School, and he is the best at playing the British style of progressive rock. There would not be one song we could not play. Orrie did band bookings at major festival events and asked us to play the River City Bike Fest and gave us the premium time slot to go on stage just before Gene Simmons new "Official KISS Tribute", they were in some KISS movie of his. We DID NOT bill ourselves as any form of Budgie, in fact we scared everyone we were so good. Pete arrived into San Antonio late Friday nite. I got up early to pick up my daughter Wendy from S.A Kid's Exchange, and Pete and Carl were at my house when I got back with her. We had a 10 minute practice, tops, and I said hey guys, the elements of hate scheduled my visit with Wendy so that we could not play out allotted time slot without me being able to return her and get back in time. Not one complaint from Pete or Carl on the subject. Pete knows about being alive, and how precious every moment of life is. Little did we all know that that would be the last picture you see of Wendy to be taken of her as we dropped her off at Kid's Exchange.

Now this is the TRUE Pete Boot, so I called Orrie and he said we could swap out our slot with another band and play at 2:30 in the afternoon. Now I had Wendy and I called Kid's Exchange and said we got a new time slot to play, and could I bring Wendy in 30 to 45 min late. They did their best but the elements of hate would not bend. This is a matter of fact and history, and NOT a derogatory statement about ANYONE. Look at the face of that little girl, she cried for two hours straight, she wanted to be with her daddy and his band so bad, with nothing Pete or Nancy or anyone could say to change their minds.

Pete is a trooper, we gave up our premium time slot now. So we go play, and the soundman refuses to give us monitors. Now I'm playing an all digital stage rig, the same one I let Andy Hart use, as pictured with Wendy at the 2003 Budgie, Judas Priest gig with Ripper at the Sunken Garden's. Don't for get that at one point Andy Hart offered to let me play the gig, as he knew I have played Tony Bourge / Budgie more times than even Tony ever did. So I said to Andy, thanks but that would not be Budgie, you are Budgie. I am here for you. Back to the point, Pete, Carl and I have to start with no audible guitar. We go on with it, talk about playing by feel, an' play three of my originals when Orrie comes up and says last song make it a Budgie tune, I said no, lets end with a blind version of "Fire in the Hole". Pete says let's end with "Parents" after the BAD episode with my daughter just for business purposes. Orrie wants a Budgie song for the audience as HE advertised to them, not us. We threw the towel in just for the sake of appeasement, so we play it since Carl and I knew it well, but we NEVER played it before with Pete. And we NEVER tried to pass ourselves off as some form of Budgie, but for the sake of money, others did. The dismal afternoon crowd loved it. Afterwards people came up to me and asked was this a regroup of the original Budgie, some peeps though Carl was Shelley. I said no, but Pete is Pete, and can nail Ray's style with his own fills.

Carl took a short cut through the nearby military base and got pulled over before our gig. They find a roach, so Carl is now looking at Federal drug possession charges. Carl was over his head on this one and was understandably very anxious. After the gig, Pete goes back with Tom to get a bit of rest, and tells me to give Carl his cut of the pay. We had some drum hardware stolen from us, so Carl says, use Pete's cut to replace what was stolen. Now understand this Shelley Burke, these are the types of people I work with. They are NOT musicians, being the definition of a musician like yourself is - "A person that will write his best friend a hot check".

Lets move to 2004. Now here is where Burke compares Pete to a stalker, and I will show how this is so wrong. Boot 66 is set to open right before George Lynch in San Antonio, same week time spread as Budgie is booked by Bill Lee to play at Sunken Gardens. Tom B. was in charge of keeping up with Pete's flight schedule. For whatever reasons, Tom leaves Pete at the airport all night. I'm at the gig with Steve, who is sitting in for Carl. Orrie is cool about the whole thing despite the hour of silence where Boot 66 would otherwise have been playing. Pete is a good sport, not even one peep about it the next day, but he knew he got shit on. The weeks events are a total disaster, Tom craps on me BIG time. I don't need this abuse ever from anyone. Budgie is playing Sunken Gardens over the weekend. I said leave me out. Pete DID NOT want to go either! But went cause Tom B. drug him there.

But you see Tom B. is an ebay power seller, and old Budgie albums are worth a lot more with the actual band members that played on them signing it. So Pete goes along despite the fact he did not want to go. He did it for Tom. The problem is none of the actual legit members of Budgie are yet dead! So scum like Tom B. and the rest of them use Pete to make a buck for themselves.

Burke your at the end of your road, and are now way over your head! You can ignore these words, or do the right thing and show yourself to be the bigger person than you appears on the above thread of history.
