Sounds Like....reviews have mentioned Something For Kate, Nick Cave, Paul Weller, Neil Young, James Reyne, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen to name a few, which sounds like it’s a little hard to describe.

Warm’n’bright guitars, a driving rhythm section, strong melodies and lots of emotion and open spaces.

About Simon London + the Spirits
Based loosely in Fremantle WA, Simon London + the Spirits are a rock/roots-rock band that have a few releases out and play lots of shows and tours around Australia.

The band started up in 2003 with gigs around Perth before releasing their self-titled debut album 'Simon London + the Spirits' nationally through MGM. The two singles were supported well by radio so the band began its seemingly never-ending rounds of touring and east coast/west coast tours plus overseas jaunts to Canada, the US and such.

The band's based around the songwriting of Simon London who has released three solo albums prior to forming the Spirits. Different players float in and out at different times and for different tours and gigs. The line-up is often different, but sees Simon (vox/guitar) joined by Tim Keady (bass), Tim Stacey, Matt Morcombe or Tim Wiegele (drums), Chris Edmondson (guitar) and Clem (guitar, piano/hammond/rhodes) for various gigs and tours. It's not unusual for Simon to also do duo shows with drummer Shaun Hoffman or Chris Edmondson and plenty of solo shows too.

The release of the band's second album - 'Highway State Of Mind' in 2006 was a solid success with national and ongoing tours since. Plenty of airplay has also helped the band reach out to new audiences.

In 2008, 'Now That The Horses Have Bolted' hit the stores - a double cd with a cranking band recording on one disc and solo acoustic tunes from Simon on the other. Two songs were nominated for the prestigious WAMI Song Of The Year award at the end of 2008 (nice one WAM - thanks) and the band toured their butts off at the end of 2008.

Simon has since nicked off to Sweden with his wife Tammy for the year of 2009. You can listen to their stuff here too! (SEE TOP FRIENDS BELOW)

But either way, please check out more Spirits info or sign up to the mailing list at http://www.simonlondon.com for updates.

Thanks for visiting!

Hi Guys, if you're thinking of recording or getting some tracks that never quite sounded right properly mixed or getting some new tracks mastered then please come by & check out some new tracks that I've posted. Rock, Pop, electro, Dance, Acoustic, I'll make them sound so that you'll be proud to hear them on the radio. Recent & current bands include..... Resort, Rainy day women, Dylan Ollivierre, Jane Coby & the Kil Names, Matt Larsen, Leigh Southerland & lots more. I think you'll like my daily rate as well.

Cheers, Damo.

Greetings Spirits !!

Just in case any of you are checking the web for when we are next to convene on stage - this is a greeting you all from me to say that I'm missing you during our few months off. Although some of your on-road behaviours can still be checked at the gate, the onstage fellowship & musical journey that is each gig is a tonic worth taking!

Cross our paths soon.

Cheers,
Chris.

We are all about the SW over the next few weeks, which is excellent. We are at Bush Shack and Settlers this weekend, which we are all really looking forward to. Caught up with Chris E this morning too, that boys needs a haircut.

hey mate,

You're right.

4 strings are not enough!!!!!!!!!!!!

I normally use the 5 string bass but I also have a 4 string acoustic bass and another 4 string that will soon be a fretless bass.

Best of luck with the Canada tour.

Ahhh, yes...Salinas the 'salad bowl'. That is the reason I was there; to see as many virus infected lettuce plants as I possibly could in one place!!! I was sent on a 'round-the-world-looking-at-lettuce-viruses-trip'. It takes a special kind of person to get a kick out of that! Muir Woods was great. I was a little disheartened on the way up there though seeing all the karri trees....but the redwoods were awesome and it was the only 'touristy' thing I had time for! I LOVE TREES!!!

Have a fabulous Friday,
Linda
