   About Simon Metheringham
My second CD, "Burned By The Bright Lights", is a collection of 10 songs recorded with full instrumentation - some brand new, and some which will be familiar from my live outings over the last year - but all written with the hope that they will be varied, evocative and engaging, and, above all, memorable.

Featuring a markedly warmer and more polished sound than previous recordings, you can hear sample tracks from the album on this page and buy copies online via my website: www.simonmetheringham.net

On the website you can also buy and hear sample tracks from my previous (self-titled) 10 track album recorded in 2004, which was acoustic based using guitars, piano and vocals - just as the songs are performed live.

In addition, my 4 song "Fear Of Flying" EP (recorded in 2006) is available as a free download - as are lyrics and other interesting stuff...

I hope my songs will resonate emotionally with you in some sense and hopefully say something about the beautiful, bruised world in which we live. If you like what you hear, please tell others! And do come and see me play live - the gig dates are on this page.

The live set in the clip below was recorded at The Perseverance, Marylebone in April 2008:

In other news... for most of this millenium, I have also lead a parallel life as one fifth of Sour Mash Daddy and His Sixty Wives, a rock and roll extravaganza dedicated to old style guitar R&B. This helps me to keep satifsfied the side of my brain that is deflated by my sensitive, bruised acoustica, and just wants to play guitars very loudly. Check out our continuing musical adventures here:

Hey man, check our cover of Fluidzz' 1986 track "Mainstream Radio Sucks So Bad I Wanna Eat My Radio To Stop Inflicting It On Myself". Maybe we'll do a punk version of Icarus next.
ROCK ON!!!

So it appears if you do Smokey Robinson in the style of Led Zeppelin it comes out like Simon Metheringham...

So SGA is 66bpm (do you think it is too slow like this?) and WF is 168. Although please check against the versions on me page as I have a feeling that my drum software probably rounds up fractions of bpm or something.

hi mate! ive just had a listen to your new songs. i really like lines, the way the electric guitars come in panned far left and far right really make a big impact. i thought it was all gonna be in mono, then those guitars come in and its very impressive. i like the lyrics too, very poetical and somwhat moving. hope you are good mate. see you soon.

Ooh, ooh like the cover! Very nice. Do Sam and I get photographer's credits inside? Ooh, ooh!

By the way, Sixes and Sevens sounds like it could have been on The Second Coming and you know I ain't going to say that lightly... ;-)

Hurrah!!!

You should get someone to play the Lines riffs on sax. That's what I always think the moment they come in.
