   Simon Wood - Author's Blurbs
About me:

I’m Simon Wood and I’m an award winning thriller, crime and horror author.  Over the last eight years, I’ve had over 150 short stories and articles published.  My short fiction has appeared in a number “Best of” anthologies and I'm a frequent contributor to Writer’s Digest.

I’m the author of WORKING STIFFS, DRAGGED INTO DARKNESS and ACCIDENTS WAITING TO HAPPEN. My current book is PAYING THE PIPER and my next, WE ALL FALL DOWN, will be out in July. I write horror under the pen name of Simon Janus and my first horror novella, THE SCRUBS, will be out in June.

Fictionwise.com is currently reprinting a number of short stories.

Originally from England, I moved to the US in ’98.  My wife, Julie, is American, but I don’t hold it against her.  Our lives are dominated by a longhaired dachshund, Royston, and four cats, Chewie, Chase, Bug and Tegan.  In my past, I was a competitive racecar driver and I’m a licensed pilot.  My mum likes that I’ve taken to writing, as she think it’s the safest thing I’ve done.  However, I still cycle and I travel to the far flung corners of the world, having recently returned from Latin America. I'm dyslexic and I'm sure there are rules against me writing for a living, but I never understood the memo.

You can learn more about me at www.simonwood.net, or email me at simonwoodwrites@yahoo.com.  I send out a monthly e-newsletter that you can join.

I hope you’ll check me out.

Who I'd like to meet:
If you like my books and stories, I want to hear from you. I’m always interested in what my readers have to say and I always answer questions. I hope to come across writers too. I’ve learned a lot from my peers and I still have lots to learn and share.

Feel free to check out my e-newletter. As well as learning about current and upcoming books, it's a cockeyed look at the world and my place in it.

Okay then, I'll come. But I going to warn you ahead of time... I'll be watching to see just how many books you sign with my karmic ink. I don't want it wearing out before you get to me. So there.

Be really nice if your latest book made it into Borders over here in the UK. Leisure horror have finally been appearing there so hopefully the thrillers will too. Looking forward to it.

I am in LA! I looked at your schedule and I think I'll try to hit the Sunday Pasadena one. I can't make it on Sat. Do you think having you sign my book before I read it and before I fly with it is wise? Are there any other precautions I should take? Are knee pads and a helmet enough? Karma and juju will remain with me? :P
