Fretted,Fretless,Microtonal Guitarist/Composer/Arranger/Producer Simon C.F. Yu 余俊鋒 was born in Hong Kong, Feb 14 1987.
At 14, he was awarded the best guitarist price in a High School Band Competition.
At 17, he came to U.S. and study music in Berklee College of Music.
He studied with David Fiuczynski, Tim Miller, Mick Goodrick , Joe Lovano, George Garzone, Adam Rogers, Dodo Toru, Alain Mallet, David Gilmore, Rick Peckham, Dave Santoro, Ed Tomassi, Hal Crook, Steve Rochinski...etc.
He graduated in Dec 2007 majoring Performance and also Contemporary Writing and Production. He moved to Manhattan, New York on Spring 2008.
David Fiuczynski, Tim Miller, Mick Goodrick, Joe Lovano, George Garzone, Adam Rogers, Dodo Toru, Alain Mallet, David Gilmore, Rick Peckham, Dave Santoro, Ed Tomassi, Hal Crook, Steve Rochinskiの各氏に師事。 Berklee Performance Center、 LilyPad等、様々な場所でライブを行う。
２００７年、同大学を首席で卒業(Dual Major: Performance/C.W.P.)。
David Fiuczynskiのバンドに参加しAmerican Festival of Microtona Musicに出演。
