Jacquelin Thomas is the author of three teen novels and over twenty-seven women's fiction titles. Her novels are written not just to entertain but also to educate her readers. Teens are faced with so much these days: drugs, sex, peer pressure, domestic violence, gang violence, etc. Jacquelin's books confront those same issues while offering inspiration and hope.
SIMPLY DIVINE is the first book in the series and is a reverse rags to riches story about a young girl who has to leave her Hollywood lifestyle behind to go live with her uncle and his family in a small town in Georgia when her celebrity parents get into trouble.
The second book, DIVINE CONFIDENTIAL deals with the issue of Internet safety when Divine meets a boy in a chatroom. I'm thrilled to announce that this book was nominated for an NAACP Image Award in the Outstanding Literary/Youth & Teens category. I traveled to Los Angeles to attend the ceremony in February and had a great time. While DIVINE CONFIDENTIAL didn't win--it's such an honor to have been nominated.
DIVINE SECRETS is the third book in the series and confronts the issue of teen domestic violence.
Coming in June 2008 is DIVINE MATCH-UP. Check out the cover below. Be sure to mark your calendars for the release of this book when Divine and her boo, Madison decide to tie the knot (virtually)!
