About me:
This site is dedicated to "Simply The Blues" Blues Festival(May 7th and 8th 2010), The Blues, Musicians in General, and all Live music. Including Rock, Roots, Folk, Metal, Country, Punk, Alternative, Jazz, and Rap, because it all came from the Blues. I Love America and American Music. Check out our website at
www.simplemanenterprises.com.
Simply the Blues is a blues festival that was started in Fort Madison, Iowa by Simple Man Enterprises, LLC for the sheer love of live music. Our Festival is going on its 7th year and is currently held at C. E. Richards Rodeo Arena, home of the Tri-State Rodeo, just up the hill from Highway 61 and the Mississippi River. Simply the Blues is a very personable festival that features some of the best national Blues entertainment in the country. This festival has also helped raise over $13,000 for local and national non-profit and charity organizations in the last 5 years.
"Yup; this Blues Fest is on my 'Don't Miss List'. SIMPLY PUT: SIMPLY MARVELOUS."
Gary Eckhart
Blue Monday.
"FORT MADISON - Southeast Iowa may be nothing more than a rural backwater as far as the rest of the country is concerned, but we have one of the finest festivals on the Mississippi."
Bob Saar
The Hawk Eye.
We are one of the first festivals of the season, with plenty of room to grow. The bands and seating are covered in case of rain, but it can be cool this time of year , so you may want a blanket and a coat; so that you can enjoy some of the hottest live blues that this country has to offer. Past performers include: James Cotton, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Michael Burks, Carrie Bell, Willie Kent, Bobby Rush,Sugar Blue, Hubert Sumlin, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Kenny Neal, Shannon Curfman, Bernard Allison, Eric Sardinas, Daniel Ballinger, Anthony Gomes, John Primer, Leon Redbone, Magic Slim, Jimmy Burns, Jason Ricci, Pat Ramsey, Harper, Rory Block, Liz Mandville, Otis Taylor, David "Honeyboy" Edwards, Chris James and Patrick Rynn, Johnny Drummer, Eddie Turner, Zac Harmon, Diunna Greenleaf, Soul of John Black, Shawn Kellerman,Patrick Hazell, porterdavis, Scott Ellison, Darrell Nulisch, Bob Corritore, Alvin Jett and Phat Noiz, Joey Gilmore, Sean Carney, Trampled Under Foot and many others.

When I take the time to sit down and look at people pasing by I don't stop thinking about how fantastic life is and even the creation of man. Think about all the parts that have to/should work together. It is not strange that something goes wrong from time to time. This weeks link is The Bluesmates version of Assembly Line. Wishing you a great weekend with some good music. Take care. Blues'on my friend. Grandpa_Erik
