Born in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil, in 1972, she began her music studies in the Brasilia Music School, in 1990.
She started her musical carrer singing in many professional Choirs in Brasilia and in 1992 played in the Brasilia Music School's Guitars Orchestra.
In 1995, she was awarded as "best singer" in a Music Festival at Distrito Federal.
During her music studies in Brasilia, Simone performed with many MPB and Bossa Nova groups, as well as with the group Casa de Farinha (Ethno-Brazilian Folksongs), in 1999.
In 2001, she moved to Switzerland and then started many projects concerning Brazilian music: Sven Olar & Simone Santos, Simone Santos Band, Jazz via Brasil, Santos Quartett, Lariba.
In October of 2006, she recorded with Rodrigo Botter Maio three songs on the album "Reencontro dos Ventos".
Since 1995, Simone has been teaching music theory, guitar and chant, and as well giving workshops.
