The genesis of it?
As old as the world itself – but impossible to describe. It is the story of the victory of desire over uneasiness and ill-being. The story of a voice that remains unconscious of itself. But it is also the birth of a passion, as for any other group. Everything begins with this instrument that gives birth to passion – guitar. In selfish repeats, one hums a tune – alone – and one finds in it a way to escape. In fact, the genesis of Since I Quit – the sole and unique one – is pain. And the thread along which it unravels itself: drugs. Drugs in the sense that it has become an obsessional need to immerse oneself in it, body and soul. A great dream to conjure other dreams; SIQ is artificial sleep – a gentle anesthetic. SIQ is also the birth of a voice that does not come to terms with itself, that does not really realize itself but that eventually grows to enjoy listening to itself and who enjoys being listened to. Sharing becomes – as any happiness will have it – a necessity. The story of SIQ is also the one of chance and fortune. Thus came out the result – and SIQ becomes a crossroads of lives. And that is the true genesis of it.

Hey Since I Quit, Blinking reveals the true visage of beauty hidden within your eyes. Your layers of absinthe and torsion form concretions of hyper-alimentation. May you always have stables of horses to service your needs. All my thoughts are lost to your graceful gaze? I keep searching for you between the cushions. How can I help but use your eyes as a means for self-asphyxiation? In your presence even my shadow acquires the sensation of touch. Panoramic aromavision is the future. So charmingly silky, your skin is like a teardrop on a popsickle. Your eyes are like spheres of crystal water filled with shimmering dreams. Polished rock candy comes ever to mind when thinking of you. You ever remind me of the enigma of happy thoughts I once forgot. Your sweet voice is like the application of aloe vera upon a sunburnt back. The sand runes crossing your divided consciousness do speak of contemptuous monsters being slayed by flying phoenixes. The music that flows from your instruments overwhelms me with creativity.
