Das Metal Quintett Since You Are Dead wurde 2005 in Wolfurt,
Österreich gegründet.
Vokalist Thomas Kalb, Gitarrist Christian Gmeiner, Bassist Matthias
Gmeiner und Drummer Michael Rädler kannten sich aus dem Freundeskreis,
und alle hatten dasselbe Ziel vor Augen – Musik zu schreiben, so
facettenreich wie das Leben.
Viele Proben, Bandwettbewerbe und Auftritte halfen ihnen erste
Erfahrungen zu sammeln und an ihrem Sound zu feilen.
Es dauerte allerdings bis Anfang 2007, bis ein zweiter Gitarrist,
Robert Springer, gefunden wurde und sich die Band neu kreativ
entfalten konnte. Durch Robert wurde ihre Musikstill besser definieren
und verfeinern. Es wurde ein Wandeln von Punk und Emo Richtung Metal
vollzogen.
Ab diesem Zeitpunkte spielte SYAD auf vielen Bühnen in Vorarlberg und
Tirol - Burn out Music Festival, Poolbar Festival und Talente 08 sind
nur einige der unzähligen Live-Performances. SYAD macht Musik, welche
sich nicht an die Spielregeln bekannter Genres haltet. Ein
schmetterndes Schlagzeug vermischt mit rockigen Riffs bildet das
Fundament für eine Musik die ihre Inspiration aus dem Metal, Emo und
dem Punk bezieht.
Titel wie ‚Underground’ oder ‚My Redeeming Sword’ geben schon die Richtung vor.

The metal quintet Since You Are Dead formed in 2005 in Wolfurt,
Austria. Vocalist Thomas Kalb, guitarist Christian Gmeiner, bassist
Matthias Gmeiner and drummer Michael Rädler all knew each other from
their circle of friends and each with the same dream – create music,
multifarious as life.
The usual round of practices, music competitions and local gigs helped
hone their sound. It was not until the beginning of 2007, however,
that they found a second guitarist, Robert Springer, and so they could
creatively unfold and improve and define their style of music much
better. There was a change from punk and emo style music to more metal
based music.
From this moment on SYAD played on many stages in Vorarlberg and Tyrol
Burn Out Music Festival, Festival and Talent Pool 08 are just some
of the countless live performances. Syad makes music which does not
respect the rules of the game known genres do. A blaring drums mixed
with rocking riffs is the foundation for a music that draws its
inspiration from the metal, emo and punk music.
Titles, such as “Underground” and “My Redeeming Sword”, give the
direction of their music.
