From raucous beginnings on the streets of Perth as WA legends 'Local Pricks', Sin City are now a fully fledged touring machine. Since relocating to Melbourne in April, 2004 the band have amassed a mammoth 500 shows and toured the country non-stop. This raw energy and commitment to their music drips from 'Hungry for love' like the sweat from their dynamite live shows. An unrellenting onslaught of passionate vocals and hook laden songs, the only thing more intense than Sin City's music is their drive.
Sin City have been hand picked to support such luminaries as The Misfits, UK Subs, Guitar Wolf, DOA, Cosmic Psychos and Anti Nowhere League. The band have also shared the stage with Jet, Sham 69, The Queers, Strung Out, Gyroscope and many more as well as playing numerous festivals including the Big Day Out.
Having previously released the succesful EP 'Sweet Lies' and the singles 'Rest In Pieces, 'Love Bite' and 'Summer Love Song', the band sold 5000 units in pure DIY spirit and now take the next step securing a record deal with boutique Melbourne label High Voltage (Blood Duster, Dern Rutledge, Warped).

Thodoris Iliopoulos was arrested on the 18th of December 2008 in Academia Street in Athens after a blind hit of the police special-forces, according to witnesses and journalists who were on the spot.
He has been held in custody since the 22nd of December in Korydallos remand prisons being charged for 3 crimes and 2 misdemeanors. The charges are based exclusively on the testimonies of two special-forces policemen. Thodoris has been denying all charges from the very beginning and he has been protesting for his innocence by writing letters and giving interviews to the media. All his requests for being released are rejected so far. On the 8th of July the Magistrates’ Council ordered the continuation of his custody for 6 months by adding arbitrarily more incriminating evidence in the original indictment, while all the other people who have been in custody, charged with similar or other accusations for the December events, have been released. After all legal procedures for his release have been rejected he started a hunger strike in prison on Friday, the 10th of July.
“I am going on a hunger strike. This is the only means I was left with as a prisoner in order to protest for the truth and denounce the enormous injustice, the hate and the empathy of the mechanisms of the ‘criminal law’, the arbitrariness and the violence of a blind ‘justice’ and of its servants who are even more ‘blind’”.

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time yesterday. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
