Bob Haworth was known by many media critics as the “driving force” of the touring Kingston Trio from 1985 to 2005 before he came off the road to focus on his solo career in the scenic Rocky Mountains where he and his wife Meri make their home.
Since his departure from the Kingston Trio’s schedule of one night stands around the country, Bob has focused on a solo career, a charitable foundation known as Concerts for A Cure and individual projects to raise money for a variety of causes.
In 2005, Bob and his wife Meri formed Concerts for A Cure, a program that features concerts designed to raise money for programs seeking a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
In 2006, his song Katrina helped to raise awareness of the plight of victims of the killer hurricane and to raise money to help those victims.
In 2007, Bob has become a focus on talk radio stations around the country with his song “Can You Get Me In?” which takes a whimsical approach to the issue of illegal immigration. “My hope is the song and others that follow will get people to think about this problem and to debate solutions,” says Bob.
A long list of stations from coast to coast have been playing the song and Bob is working on a follow-up song “Pizza for Pesos”, based on the true story of a pizza store that is accepting Mexican pesos as well as American dollars for the food it makes.
Also in 2007, Bob has recorded an emotional love song “Without You” – an inspiring ballad that celebrates love, devotion and commitment. “I hope this song becomes a standard that celebrates and honors men and women who devote their lives to loving each other,” says Bob.
Copies of the CD “Without You” are available for sale on Bob's web site. The song is an ideal surprise present for the loved one in your life for a birthday or anniversary or Valentine’s Day.
Bob Haworth has been lauded by media critics for his original songs and his unique musicianship. “Bob is simply incredible,” says Mike Kavanagh of WSB Radio in Atlanta. “His songs are wonderful, his musical arrangements and vocals inspiring and his commitment to helping others with his musical gifts is both moving and unusual in an era where other musicians focus selfishly on themselves.”
Welcome to the world of a great singer songwriter!
