Influences
SINGERS PLAYGROUND was founded by Micah Barnes after his stint with the international recording act The Nylons as a way to give up and coming singers working at every level a way to overcome stage fright and other issues and recover their sense of liberation.
After running workshops at Highways Performance Theatre for about 10 years The Playground expanded to include Toronto Canada. Training creditials and biography info is up at singersplayground.com.
This MySpace site is posted to encourage interaction among all of the Singers and Performers who have been a part of Singers Playground either in Los Angeles or Toronto, (and someday soon New York City!). We encourage you to have a listen to see (and hear!) what everyone else is up to. We're in the middle of writing our first full-length right now, and we just finished recording three brand new songs with Derek Hoffman. We'll be releasing one of those new songs on myspace very soon, so keep an eye out for that!
I'm hitting the road in a couple of weeks to raise money for War Child, Coast-to-coast – 50 cities – ALL PROCEEDS TO WARCHILD. Why? 66% of all war victims are CHILDREN. Shocked like me? War Child helps these children that have been affected by war. Check out the new blog – the whole story is up there. Love to have you be a part of it.

Hi Micah! :0) I am glad you enjoyed my page. I am actually surprised that we haven't met yet and wonder if you are in Toronto these days? I haven't heard from your brother in awhile and hope he is well.
