While training to be a concert pianist, Carrie moved to Florida at age 14 and instantly began alarming her parents with a newfound love of bluegrass music. Since then she has played and sung in many bands of various shapes & sizes, currently residing in Tallahassee - someday to be known as "The Birthplace of Singing Biscuit." The band is always in flux but usually includes: Angie Prather, Mike Snelling, Dennis Hardin, Frank Graham and David Leporati. Performing solo and with the band, Carrie has gained a following at coffee houses, clubs, nature centers, house concerts, legion halls, bars, theaters, and folk music festivals throughout Florida and the US. A typical set will combine several of her original country-flavored tunes with some eclectic covers ranging from the Stanley Brothers to Iris DeMent. She has twice placed in the Top 10 in the annual Will McLean new song contest. Two full-length recordings so far: "Stand Up Eight" (2003) and "The Cosmic Reel" (2006), both available through the singingbiscuit.com site and CDBaby.

Hello! I'm just dropping by to show you some of my latest 2010 photos from out in the Florida wilderness. My New Year's resolution is to spend more time taking more landscape shots, and to try and learn my birds - I'm too much of a botany guy :-) Click on any of the photos to see more!
I hope you like my new stuff, and I hope you are having a fantastic new year!
Here's a photo from last night in the event you wish to use it to tacky-up your page like the Even Money page. One can never have too many pairs of shoes or pictures of the band. Excess and hyperbole inspire us and save lives. Great fun last night.
Hey stringband fans. New Orleans street band hits theatres, festivals and halls. THE BLUE RIBBON HEALERS are fully functional and chugging along steadily.
WE love you carrie! The party was a SURPRISE. AT least l00 people showed up and we played music until about 3:00. Phew. In recovery mode. Hugs my dear friend. I love you so much.
Hey there! I do need to thin some of those photos out, don't I? Getting a bit busy on that page! I cannot now recall the photographer's last name. Brian introduced us. She took a great group of photos back in July. We're still going through them. The last ones I posted were several I took in Thomasville at the art show last weekend. We hope you all are enjoying the holidays and picking merrily! Linda
Thanks for all you did to make the show at Ace's what it was.. You are an engaging performer and an all around great person to hang with. If I could I'd come to ALL of your shows. See you and the Mayhaws at Riverhawk.
HI Carrie, well I haven't been to either one. I met some kind folks from Woodview on Saturday at our performance at Abigail's here in Dunnellon. About 8 of those folks came. They are some really nice people huh. As far as Wil McClean festical. We've only lived in Florida for 1 month, and plan on attending. Margaret wants to get us in the line up. That would be cool. I love that woman. Hope to meet you soon. Michelle
Nice to meet you too Carrie. Yes we are playing this Saturday at Abigail's Cafe in Dunnellon this Saturday Night. Not sure how far you are from there.. but would love to have ya. : )
