Singing River Records is an Independent Record Label and was established by The Entertainment Industry program at The University of North Alabama in 2007. After a successful two years with Lee Taylor as the debut artist & Rachel Pochop as the 2008-2009 artist, the program is looking forward to an exciting future. Here's a little about our 2008-2009 artist...Rachel Pochop is 19 years old and a sophomore at the University of North Alabama. She is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She began writing songs when she was 16. At the beginning, her material had more of an acoustic, almost country feel. Now with over 50 songs written, Rachel has become a unique artist who communicates life through soulful and socially conscious music. Intertwining pop, rock, and blues, Rachel creates music that is both refreshing and original. Her debut album, "Letting Go", captures the sound of today's pop culture climate, giving her relevance as a songwriter and musician. "Letting Go" reflects her individuality and style as an artist. The songs are a combination of styles, yet still maintain a consistency relevant to her sound.
