About Singles Night

Singles Night is the new venture into sound from Messers Beans and Divine! After years of carrying large bags of 12" packages of musical treats they've decided that all good things tend to come in 7" form.

Singles Night does what it says on the label - 45s only ALL NIGHT! And if you do happen to be single, then you're very welcome too...

Expect a selection of the finest 45s from the minds of ANDREW DIVINE! (Glasgow School of Art) and CHRIS 'BEANS' GEDDES (BELLE AND SEBASTIAN).

Singles Night will be open for business on the THIRD SATURDAY of the Month @ Flying duck (as of November).

The Flying Duck is the club version of Mono (set in a proper tenement house), but there is better wallpaper (posters of classic gigs & clubs from Glasgow past), and no limit to the amount of toast available...

Nov 13 2007 5:13 PM DA DOO RON RON 10th XMAS SHINDIG - ONE-OFF 60s GIRL POP & SOUL SET FM CHRIS 'Beans' GEDDES (BELLE & SEBASTIAN) & ANDREW DIVINE - SAT 8 DEC, BRIGHTON After celebrating our ninth Birthday in October, 60s girl pop & soul club night Da Doo Ron Ron are extremely pleased to welcome an ace brace of extra special superstar DJs at their Xmas Shindig on Saturday 8th December upstairs @ the Komedia in Brighton. First up is BELLE & SEBASTIAN's kitten on the keys (and long-term DJ!) Chris 'BEANS' Geddes. Chris is returning 8 years after making his Da Doo debut alongside his regular DJ compadre Andrew Symington (who runs Divine, Glasgow's longest running 60s club night, 17 years & counting!) at Da Doo's 2nd Birthday way back in October '99. In keeping with Da Doo's femme-centric sixties remit, Beans & Mr. Divine will be spinning a special, utterly one-off, not-to-be-repeated set consisting of nothing but sixties femme pop embracing 60s girl groups, Motown, Sister funk, Ye-Ye, girls in the garage, Soul / Northern soul, Latin, girl pop et al. The first 50 in on the night will receive a special 28 / 30 track CD, compiled by Chris Geddes (B&S), Andy Symington and regular Da Doo DJs Chris Da Doo and Simon Bridger. There will also be a FREE raffle.
