Sounds Like
The best of bluegrass and gospel... but MUCH MORE FUN!
Here's Singleton Street performing By the Mark at the Rosemount UMC CD release concert.
And here's I Saw the Light
And here's one more song from that performance, The Harvest, where Chuck talks briefly about living with autism. Now you can see why spreading hope about autism one of our causes.

No show would be complete without our favorite closing number... it's Chuck singing When I Lay My Burdens Down. Enjoy!
Welcome to Singleton Street's myspace site! If you've heard us live, you already know we're a lively blend of bluegrass/gospel, old-timey, Irish, even folk music. If you haven't heard us, we invite you to spend some time reading our stories and, if you're interested, to purchase one of our CDs (see our Blog for where and how to order). A little history: Chuck Leyda (guitar) and Sherri Leyda (rhythm guitar) - also husband and wife - spent three years touring Renaissance Festivals around the country before meeting Jimmy Newkirk (bass) and the Celtic band The Banshees. During their three years together playing Irish music, Chuck, Sherri and Jimmy discovered a shared passion for bluegrass and old-time music. They soon became full blown cross-overs. Singleton Street made its MBOTMA debut at the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old-time Music Association (MBOTMA) Winter Weekend in March 2000. Craig Evans (frailin) joined the band a couple years later with his open-back banjo and clawhammer style, adding the ability to create the full bluegrass and old-time sounds. We especially enjoy playing Gospel sets which allow us to perform tight, three and four part harmonies, flatpicking guitar leads and banjo drive.
