All Studios include PROTOOLS HD SYSTEMS and 5.1 SURROUND SOUND is available in all Mix suites.
Both ANALOG and DIGITAL recording formats are catered for and we house one of the largest collection of NEW and VINTAGE MICROPHONES in Australia.
Our rooms boast an exciting collection of modern outboard equipment, supported by a wide choice of classic gear and clients also have use of a comprehensive Sound Effects Library .

Sing Sing
The GORDON STREET complex is roomy and comfortable - a home away from home featuring natural timbers and light, airy rooms. Clients are provided with both private and communal relaxation areas plus a variety of distractions like full sized Pool & Table Tennis tables, Darts, large screen TVs, DVD's , electronic games and game consoles plus a selection of board games.
The Internet is available for client use & may be accessed through either Ethenet cables or Airport connection. Shower and kitchen facilities are also provided, as well as a leafty, outdoor courtyard with BBQ.
Sing Sing South
Our Chapel St complex (SING SING SOUTH) is more Retro in design and feel and has its own rich musical history (having formerly, and variously, been run as Media Sound Studios, Yarra Bank Studios, Platinum Studios and Kiss).
Sing Sing South is the home of our B Studios and is a more modestly appointed complex that nevertheless boasts Class A gear and provides all the domestic basics (lounge and games areas, shower, TV and kitchen facilities).
Situated conveniently close to the Chapel Street and Toorak Road precinct (with its popular shops, cafes and restaurants) Sing Sing South is the IDEAL STUDIO FOR THE BUDGET CONSCIOUS.
Sing Sing also runs its own HIRE DEPARTMENT , offering an extensive range of contemporary, veteran and vintage Outboard equipment plus a wide choice of Musical Instruments, Guitar Amps and Microphones.

History
HISTORICALLY speaking, SING SING RECORDING STUDIOS started life in 3 Gordon St in 1980 under the name of K.A.J. Recording; a simple, single studio business, owned and operated by Engineer/Producer Kaj Dahlstrom.
A few years later, Engineer/Producers Phil Butson and Trevor Reading (from Studio 250) decided to partner up with Kaj and, bringing their recording goods and chattels with them they amalgamated, changing the Studio's name to Sing Sing in 1983.
Over the years Sing Sing continued to grow, adding a room here and there and eventually taking over the entire premises at 3-9 Gordon St, Richmond (AKA Cremorne).
The business expanded further still when, in 1998, Sing Sing took over KISS
in Chapel Street , South Yarra and added a further 2 rooms to its stable. This premises quickly became known as SING SING SOUTH.
Now in its twenty sixth year, SING SING RECORDING STUDIOS is still going strong and still operating out of the two premises.
We consider ourselves fortunate to be able to serve an eclectic range of clients, both Australian and International, who work mainly the fields of Music, Film, Television, Theatre, Advertising, Electronic Games, Art or Education.
