Just a quick note on breaking up. Sinking Ships has been a band now for four years. It has been great and I don't think anyone would trade it for anything in the world. But of course, life keeps happening, and there have been a lot of serious things happening in people's lives that has made it pretty much impossible for us to keep going as a band. I'm not gonna go into details, but it reached a point where playing shows local or abroad just couldn't come together anymore. Breaking up always sucks, but it has to happen to everyone sooner or later.
As for the final shows, we're playing Rain Fest and Sound & Fury because our long time drummer Andy Rice will be at those shows, and with Andy currently residing on the other side of the country, it makes these the easiest shows for us to play. Plus we wanted to play a local show and also to play Sound & Fury, which is partially booked by Bob Shedd who has done more for our band than anyone on the planet, so ending Sinking Ships at his fest feels like a good natural way to end things.
test press - 15 pressed. i had some left over covers from the euro tour press (explained below) so i made these into test covers.
blue vinyl - 99 pressed. these went out mostly for preorder, i think we got 20 or so.
record release - 75 made on clear/green/some other bullshit vinyl with no labels, screenprinted covers.
european tour press - 125 made, same vinyl as above. they are actually numbered out of 150, this is because of a mistake with the pressing plant. we ordered 225 and they sent us 200. the covers were already made (and numbered) so we used the extras for test presses and tossed the rest. so someone out there might actually have 150/150, im not sure which ones didnt get used. the picture below shows the front (photo side) and the back (text side).
green vinyl - 312 pressed. ugly ass green. not the color that we ordered. thanks dicks.
clear vinyl - 630 pressed. this was supposed to be clear green. thanks again. fuck this pressing plant sucks.
clear green - they just pressed the last 500, so i think it makes this color an even 1000. they arnt repressing it after that. i dont have a copy, but im sure you can imagine what it looks like.
heres the pressing info for all our vinyl. im sick of reading it wrong on the internet. EDIT: i cant figure out why the hell photobucket is making all the damn pictures different sizes, tired to fix it but it wont work, so sorry about that.
demo 7" - Excursion Records (OUT OF PRESS) (this is the same recording that is on the end of the 'meridian' cd, minus the song 'angels live in my town' which is on this 7" only. thhe recording is also remixed and the vocals were redone from the original cd demo.)
test press - out of 7, numbered on the label. cover printed on a transparency. originally there was supposed to be 14, but half got lost in the mail.
pre-release - out of 30, numbered on the label and on clear vinyl. there are an additional 5 that are personalized instead of numbered. this cover was also printed on a transparency, reversed from the demo version.
west coast tour press - out of 65, numbered on the inside of the sleeve with screenprinted covers. on clear vinyl. we printed these in the backyard and the ink never really set up, so however many years later the ink is still tacky. at least mine is.
std. press - out of 500, numbered on the back. on clear vinyl. dave larson hand made all these covers, just thought id mention that. it has a 2 layer cover with vellum and cardstock. im a fan of this one.
treasure hunt press - 10 made, each with a different cover. me and dave went out the night before stay golds reunion show and hid 10 records all over seattle (buried, hung off bridges, etc.) and then posted clues to their locations the next morning. i dont have a picture to post of one of these, cause i dont have one.
Meridian 7" - Run For Cover Records (OUT OF PRESS)
test press - 22 made, numbered in the corner.
record release press - 60 made, numbered on the inside cover. on black vinyl.
sink with cali press - 50 made, numbered on the back. red vinyl. these were sold at the '05 sink with cali fest. at least i think it was '05. these covers were a last minute thing, which as you will see has happened a few times. href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v45/dhesketh/?action=view¤t=meridiansink.jpg" target="_blank">
east coast tour press - 100 made, numbered on the back. red vinyl. features a drawing of us and shook ones apparently on a spaceship. this was our first of 20 tours with shooks, and looks like it was drawn on a napkin. thanks to bob shedd for driving paul to kinkos to make these, and thanks to jeff for not giving us covers so we had to make these.
blue vinyl/preorder press - 200 made. you got one of these if you preordered from run for cover, and if jeff actually shipped it to you.
red vinyl - 150 made. 300 red vinyl were actually press, but one 150 had the original cover.
green vinyl - 900 made. colors vary slightly from darker to lighter green, but its all green you bastards. you dont have some rare version cause its a little lighter.
final press - 100 made, numbered on the back.. these were the last 100 that jeff had of the green vinyl press. we spraypainted the covers and took them to europe.
Ten 7" - Revelation Records
test press - 16 made, numbered on the back.
sound and fury/record release - first 50 made with silver ink on red vinyl (1-50). record release written and numbered on the back. my girlfriend made these as you bought them because we didnt actually get this vinyl until we showed up to sound and fury.
sound and fury/record release - second 50 made with gold ink on pink vinyl (51-100). same deal as the one above.
'07 european tour press - 65 made, numbered on the back on red vinyl. we wanted to keep the same vibe as the record releases, so they look very similar.
white vinyl - 200 made.
pink vinyl - out of 350. 400 were pressed, but only 350 have the normal cover.
red vinyl - out of 750? fuck i dont know. ill have to make a correction on this one later. its the normal press, thats all you need to know.
Safe 7" - Sinking Ships Records (OUT OF PRESS) (this 7" has 2 songs, one song 'safe' that we planned on rerecording for the lp but are not anymore, and a cover of the whiskeytown song 'revenge'. its a small press and we did it for the fuck of it, and thought itd be cool have something to only sell on tour. you'll probably never see us play these songs live, or hear them on anything else.)
test press - 16 made.
std. press - 500 made, all on black vinyl. hand stamped covers. no its never being repressed.
get back together edge fest in yakima isnt the same without sinking ships
