You know, I have debated making it the first song on the list. I heard the song on the radio a couple weeks back, and actually LISTENED to the lyrics. I think it is a great song :-)

Hey Sinnerman:
The Spot is celebrating its 1 year anniversary all next week, and on Thurs 7/12, we're having a theater industry night party all night.

This is a special night because we are settting up tables for you all to use as information booths, free of charge, to promote your next show, to get emails, give out brochures, get headshots, and generally network.

Also we have a paid cocktail reception: 3hours, $10 bucks a person! Ridiculous!

So if you're interested in reserving a space, call me at 708 363 2141.

Hey Sinnerman group -

I was at your poker night fundraiser party. It was a blast, and the burritos were good...

My Ben Folds Five Tribute band is having a gig this coming wednesday, June 6th. We're at the Tonic Room, 2447 N. Halsted.

The show is at 8 PM. Not only that, we have a Paul Simon tribute band performing before us, then we're up, and a Sublime tribute band closes off the night!

Cheers,
Alan

The reviews are in:

"Backed by moody live music, the outstanding ensemble cast brings the play to life with a grim reality that enhances Shepard's precise, intelligent writing" ~ Chicago Sun Times - Highly Recommended

"The production is typical Strawdog: nimble and razor-sharp with a tight ensemble capable of articulating Shepard's tightly wound characters." ~ Daily Hearld - Highly Recommended

"Nic Dimond's careful direction of an outstanding cast nails Shepard's inimitably American poetry, backed by an impeccably modulated live band." ~ Time Out Chicago - Recommended, Critic's Pick

"...their carefully styled performances make for an engaging, well-paced two hours." ~ Chicago Reader - Recommended

Hey Sinnerman, wanted to let you know about benefit possibilities:
I just started at the Spot on broadway, and they have a ridiculous deal; 2 hours open bar, $15 a person, and the company takes $10. Also, if you do it on pub trivia Tuesdays, form a team and win, you get half the pot and the other half goes to charity. Wanted you to know. Hope all is well. cheers JM

I'm spreading the word in case any of your friends in theater companies need to do benefits.
I just started at the Spot on broadway, and for theater companies, they can give you 2 hours of open bar, for $15 a person, and the company gets $10 from that.
also, if you decide to do it on Pub trivia Tuesday, and form a team, and win, you get half the pot and the other half goes to charity.

Wanted to let you know, hope all is well, JM
