Bio
Sinti Rhythm is an acoustic quartet that performs Gypsy jazz and vintage swing, a music dedicated to the legacy of Django Reinhardt. The word "Sinti" (meaning "Gypsy") has obscure origins and is associated with the Roma, a nomadic people many of whom were musicians. An exotic fusion of American jazz with European romanticism driven by string-based rhythms, Sinti Rhythm's music features standards from the Great American Songbook, original compositions by Django, and selections from Sinti musicians like Bireli Lagrene, Stochelo Rosenberg, Angelo DeBarre, Dorado Schmitt, and Titi Winterstein. Sinti Rhythm has performed throughout Massachusetts and the Northeast, with a three-year residency at Atwood's Tavern in Cambridge, appearances at the Brooklyn Djangology Festival, the French Cultural Center of Boston, The Peabody Essex Museum, Wayland Public Library, Gore Estate Summer Concert Series, Sparrow Park Concert Series, and shows at Toad, Cantab Lounge, The Stork Club, Sherborn Inn, Boston Swing Central, and Novartis Corporation. The group has appeared on radio stations WMBR FM Cambridge, and WBUR's "Here and Now" with Robin Young. They have recorded their first EP, "Hot Jazz & Gypsy Swing," now out in distribution. Their instrumentation consists of a traditional Gypsy rhythm section of two guitars and upright bass highlighted with clarinet, and sometimes embellished with violin, mandolin, saxophone, and vocals, by distinguished guests like Matt Glaser, Jason Anick, John McGann, Stan McDonald, and Mollie Malone. Sinti Rhythm has created musical programs for a wide variety of clients and is available for private functions, weddings, and corporate events. The band has full amplification to boost its acoustic sound and is available in combinations that vary from duo to quintet. To book for engagement, contact rob@robertsaunders.com. Jack Soref is available for private functions on solo jazz and Gypsy jazz guitar, as well as guitar lessons. He can be contacted at jack@jacksoref.com. .. ............Myspace Layouts.. - ..Hot Comments.... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -

Where is the schedule page hidden?

The schedule section is on the right, just above the friends list, but currently the band is only booked for private functions (weddings etc.) so there's nothing listed. Our usual lead guitarist (Jack) is in Paris studying Django's music at the source until the fall. Expect to see some dates on the calendar come September, and thanks for all your work Marce.
All the Best,
Sinti Rhythm
