Formed back in around 1999/2000 originaly a 4 piece, augmented to 7, with a maximum of 10. Back then the sound was jazzy, fronted by female vocals and some MCing. Members of the band all went in different directions so, sion has been reborn as a much darker, heavier 2 piece. Drums and Bass... well thats all you need aint it? NRFTW returns after it’s summer break with yet another platter of cutting edge live drum and bass bands and the best of London’s up and coming Djs and MCs. This month we welcome back two of our old friends. Fresh back from tearing up the festival circuit, punk and bass stars Dead Silence (www.deadsilence.co.uk) + dark jazz maestros Sion (www.myspace.com/sionlive) . If you’ve been lucky enough to catch either of these bands down at NRFTW before, you’ll know that it’s going to be a heavily rinsing session !!
Dj and Mc sets come from some of London’s finest up and coming dnb talent including Twisted beats (dnb4essex.co.uk), Double 0 and Mantra (Rupture / DZR), Illmatika (Kool fm), MR T (Origin) , V-Double-e and many more.
