| General | Photography, writing, landscape design, horticulture. I used to count acting and singing in this group. Acting is like breathing; unfortunately, I've been holding my breath a long damn time. The only thing that comes close to the same kind of peace is photography. I also find climbing very zen, but don't get to do it anymore. That leaves the occasional hike. About me:
First off, that nice Serenity logo over there on the top left (when it's there) is a handpainted work of pastel art by Kayna, from Fireflyfans.net. It belongs to her, and I have her permission to use it, so if you want it, you best be askin' her. We don't cotton to copyright infringers 'round here. Also, if I have met you in the world, please drop me an email in addition to friending me, so I know who you are and don't have to try to decipher it from your vague myspace name and your friends list. Now then...I'm an optimist, but I like to hide it beneath copious layers of pessimism, just to hedge my bets. I'm also a romantic idealist, which causes me no end of trouble. Sarcasm is my weapon of choice, and I wield it with impunity - it gets me through a lot of soul-sucking activities that sort of pay the bills. I used to be fairly cheerful most of the time, but I've been surfin' through a rough patch a while, so at the moment, I just wish I was. My mantra used to be What Would Trixie Belden Do, but I eventually outgrew it. Mainly on accounta Trixie being a fictional character who never got past the age of 14, so really, there's only so long you can live your life by what a teenager would do in any given situation, no matter how intrepid and adventurous she is. Plus, my mother really hated to be called "Moms." I think Joss Whedon has the most perfect sense of humor on the planet. I curse a lot, which I really wish I could break myself of. I love certain board games, rollerskating, climbing, movies, books, and taking pictures of stuff I dig. I'm a child of television and make no apologies. I should write more than I do, since it seems to be my gift. Unfortunately, I am a classic underachiever all about the squandering of gifts. And yes, I am a geek. But I'm kind of a pretty geek, so it all evens out in the end. Or so I like to think.

Who I'd like to meet:
People who are genuinely nice. By which I mean they do not annoy, irritate, vex, ire, or otherwise piss me off with their self-centered crap. Some days, that's a pretty big task.
Some things that do not piss me off include - but are not limited to - intelligence, wit, generosity, consideration, politeness, good manners, the environment, puppies, good books, kindness, compassion, common sense, people who behave in a responsible and considerate manner, soft and fluffy bathrobes, laughter, good movies, my friends (most of the time), and people who ask why /why not.
