About Si Phili

Best known for being a part of one of the UK's hottest hip hop groups Phi Life Cypher, Si Phili's infatic rhyming style makes him one of the most respected MC’s in the UK underground. Phi Life Cypher have performed at various high profile Hip Hop events and festivals such as Hip Hop Kemp (CZ Republic), Peace not War (London), The Brighton Hip Hop festival, Depurcussion (Manchester) among many others.

Through out his ten year career of rhyming, Si Phili has achieved “one of the best MC’s in the UK” status along with his rhyming partner Life MC, and producer DJ Nappa. He has performed and recorded with artists such as Public Enemy, KRS1, Big Daddy Kane, Flava Flav, The Pharcyde, Afu Ra amongst others. He also performed across the world with the award winning Gorillaz at The Brit Awards in 2001, performing the original “PLC” (Phi-Life Cypher) recorded version of “Clint Eastwood” released in the same year, available on the (Gorrillaz G-Sides). Phili has already made a huge impact on British Hip Hop.

Having gained exposure on both Mtv and TMF through 'Hugo Boss Urban Rules' (a program designed to search for the best urban talent in the UK). Si Phili went on to win the Hugo Boss Urban Rules competition with the assistance of RnB heavyweight HT.

Despite the huge success already under his belt, Luton based Phili has finally decided to embark on his first solo effort which promises to be a real banger. Working with new producers Richy Spitz and Youngsoul the LP will feature appearances from the likes of Skinnyman, Life MC, Black Twang, Afu Ra, plus others. The first single to be released from the LP will be named “Sunshine” with the release pencilled for the Autumn of 2008 … So keep your eyes peeled for it!
