Nita “Sippi” Morgan is a true worshipper of the only wise God with the ultimate aim of winning lost souls to Christ. She is a native of Woodville, MS and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Her parents are Mr. Robert and Mrs. Sarah Morgan and Pastor Jim and the late Edith Howard.
With the encouragement of her great-grandmother, Sarah Woodside, Nita began singing at age 7. She stepped out to sing her first solo, “God Has Smiled On Me.” Over the years, Donnie McClurkin, Timothy Wright, Betty Ransom Nelson, Beverly Crawford, Dorinda Clark-Cole,her sister DARLENE MCCOY, Debra Morton, Michael Brooks, Thomas Whitfield and Daryl Coley are some of the great gospel artists she has had the honor of opening for and/or ministering alongside. Psalmist Nita Morgan has recorded with the Southeastern Young Adult Choir of Houston, Texas under the leadership of Shirley Joiner. She is currently working on her first live, solo recording, to be released fall 2009.
Nita serves as the praise and worship leader and Vice President of the Sanctuary Choir at Interdenominational Faith Assembly of Baton Rouge under the covering of Senior Pastor Jim Howard, Pastor and Co-Pastor Shannon & Guevara Johnson. Possessing the anointing to reach the very throne of the Almighty God, her voice is an instrument which can be likened to the extension of the most excellent, flexible, and adaptable tapestry in preparation for the entrance of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Having been assured and reassured that God is her friend, she encourages people to seek God’s face as she does wholeheartedly. She takes pride in verbalizing God’s praise and so forcefully, and yet gingerly, soothes the hearts and inner man of the downtrodden, like David did. The Word of God flows over her vocal cords in word and song with such conviction that those present will know Jesus Christ is truly the Lamb of God. Her desire is that every man, woman, boy, and girl will experience the presence of God invading their atmosphere daily.
