things that i've done
throughout my career i've had the honor to perform in so many great venues and at so many awesome events. as well as to just be apart of some amazing happenings in st.louis. such as...
-planning, throwing, and performing at parties as a part of glitterbomb productions, most notably U*CAN*DANCE!! dj charliebuttons and i have thrown 20 UCD!! shows now, and its really the most important thing to me in my entire career. i love it, i live it. its a supreme honor to not only be a part of, but to help create what i see as a groundbreaking and fucking fun as hell event.
-showdirecting at both faces on 4th street and the complex.
-appearing in a v.i.p. burlesque review for director, john waters.
-hosting fetish fashion shows sponsored by the atomic cowbow, spankys, and the wash u alternative lifestyle association.
-performing and often hosting at university drag shows around the city and state, including: my alma mater, UMSL, and the longest running annual university show in the area, the webster u drag ball.
-traveling to perform at soco club in columbia, the office in rockford, irene's cabaret in quincy, and martha's in springfield.
-being a part of the burlesque revival in st.louis as a part of the atomic cowboy's cabaret show, as well as, lola van ella's burlesque showcase and her spunky screw u burly-q.
what i'm about
i believe that drag is just a part of who i am as an entertainer. yes, i am a man that dresses up like a woman on stage... but doesn't "drag" at this point imply much more? the illusion of a woman, pageantry, sequins and rhinestones... the word drag conjures all these things to mind. and while they are a part of what they do, they aren't the entirety.
i'm also a rocker and total techno-junkie. sometimes my aesthetic goal really is to look more like an anime girl rather than a real woman. sometimes i don't think a performance calls for much illusion at all, or maybe no illusion, or half an illusion. sometimes my performances aren't about being man or woman... so much as being human, and disregarding the importance we place on gender.
and there is more still in store in the future. i have new talents to develop, explore, and hone. my career thus far has been an interesting journey, and the destination is never quite the same... i hope for nothing less in the future.
