Sirens of Mothra is the convergence of 5 female musicians from some of the best bands in Eugene, Oregon. While their paths crossed performing with their respective bands over the last few years, Kyra, Sassy, Emily, Veigh and Gina officially began this cutting edge project in the Summer of 2007. The Sirens offer the rare treat of chilling four part harmonies and sophisticated original songwriting that creates a genre-defying sonice experience. With a penchant for dark lyrics but smart and catching melodies, the Sirens promise to be a sight and sound unlike any other.
While offering a totally unique sound of their own, The Sirens heaviest influences come from the combination of their musical backgrounds: Kyras sweetly fierce vocals and intelligent lyrical style bring a pop/punk flavor from her band The Dead Americans while Sassys (The Costars) screamin' guitar riffs and Emilys (Telepathic Dumpster) solid drum chops both hint at a taste of classic and progressive rock. Gina and Veigh (both from the Ginger Hustlers) round off the sound with a dark psychedelic soundsation that bleeds into both the rhythmic pulse of the bass guitar and the hypnotic drone of the organ.
