The band was founded by Francesco de Totaro, who had already played with the Four You Blue (Beatles tribute Acoustic Trio) and who in 2005, in spring, decides to record a tribute album to George Harrison entitled A Gardner’s Songs. The album is broadcasted on the web and arouses many Harrison’s fans’ interest. Among them Jude, a student from Liverpool, becomes so fond of the album that she recommend the band to the Cavern City Tours from Liverpool, organizing committee of the international festival “Beatle Week” dedicated to The Beatles. Shortly later Sir Frankie Crisp & the Friars are invited by the Cavern City Tours to participate in the 2006 edition of the festival. After many rehearsals and live performances, in August 2006 the band wins its audience: nine concerts in five days, on the most well-known stages of the city (Cavern Front, Adelphi Ballroom, Cavern Back, Waves Bar, Cavern Pub e Crompton’s Bar). After returning from this extraordinary experience , which brought them success and gratifications (also thanks to the support of the Liverpool public), the band gathers in the studio to record the second tribute album to George Harrison, called Ballads of Sir Frankie Crisp, which is completed only in 2007. Meanwhile the Sir Frankie Crisp & the Friars receive a new invitation for Liverpool Beatle Week 2007, where, besides the Tribute to George Harrison, they are the main attraction in a performance entirely dedicated to the Travelling Willburys, legendary group of the 80s, composed of George Harrison, Bob Dylan, TomPetty, Roy Orbison e Jeff Lynne.
In December 2007,in Neviano, the Sir Frankie Crisp & the Friars honour George Harrison again with an unforgettable concert entitled LIVE...in The Material World, where they use all the experience and skills gained in the past two years. In 2008, in addition to the performances in its native country, and after having recorded its third tribute album "Let It Roll", the band is invited again in Liverpool, where it has the privilege of playing live on the Adelphi stage George Harrison’s posthumous album “Brainwashed”. In October 2008, the band is special guest of the Beatles Day 2008 of Mons in Belgium. 2008 concludes with a beautiful concert held in Italy and entitled “Sir Frankie Crisp & Friends” where the band has the honour of playing together with musician guests who made the atmosphere even more magic.

La band nasce da un'idea di Francesco de Totaro, che dopo aver militato nei Four You Blue (Trio acustico Beatles Tribute), decide nella primavera del 2005 di incidere un album tributo a George Harrison intitolato A Gardener's Songs. Pubblicato sul web, l'album attira l’interesse di alcuni fans Harrisoniani sparsi per la rete. Tra questi, Jude, una ragazza universitaria a Liverpool, si appassiona a tal punto all'album da arrivare a segnalare la band al Cavern City Tours di Liverpool, comitato che da oltre vent'anni organizza nella città natale dei Beatles la rassegna internazionale Beatle Week a loro dedicata. Non passa molto tempo e i Sir Frankie Crisp & The Friars vengono invitati dal Cavern City Tours a partecipare all'edizione 2006 della manifestazione. Così dopo intense sessioni di prove e alcune esibizioni dal vivo, in Agosto la band, parte alla conquista di Liverpool: ben nove concerti in cinque giorni sui palchi più prestigiosi della città del nord Inghilterra (Cavern Front, Adelphi Ballrom, Cavern Back, Waves Bar, Cavern Pub e Cromptons Bar). Di ritorno da questa straordinaria esperienza, ricca di soddisfazioni e successi (notevole il sostegno del pubblico della Beatle Week), la band si ritrova subito in studio per incidere il suo secondo tributo a Harrison intitolato Ballads of Sir Frankie Crisp, che dopo vari rinvii vede finalmente la luce nel Luglio 2007. Nel frattempo i Sir Frankie Crisp & The Friars ricevono un nuovo invito a Liverpool per partecipare alla Beatle Week 2007, dove oltre al tributo ad Harrison, sono l'attrazione principale di una serata interamente dedicata ai Travelling Wilburys, mitica formazione degli anni ottanta composta proprio da Harrison e da Bob Dylan, TomPetty, Roy Orbison e Jeff Lynne. Nel Dicembre del 2007, a Neviano, i Sir Frankie Crisp & The Friars rendono ancora una volta omaggio a George Harrison in un memorabile concerto intitolato LIVE...in The Material World, nel quale hanno modo di esternare tutto il bagaglio di esperienze vissute nei due anni precedenti. Nel 2008, dopo le solite esibizioni live nella loro terra, e dopo aver realizzato il loro terzo album triuto a Harrison "Let It Roll", sono di nuovo a Liverpool dove questa volta hanno il privilegio di suonare dal vivo sul palco dell’Adelphi l’album postumo di George Harrison “Brainwashed”, ed in ottobre sono ospiti d’onore del Beatles Day 2008 di Mons, in Belgio. Il 2008 si chiude con un altro bel concerto in Italia intitolato “Sir Frankie Crisp & Friends” dove questa volta la band ha l’onore di essere supportata da diversi musicisti ospiti che rendono ancora più magica l’esibizione dedicata ad Harrison.

La parte più melodica del rock e del metal si fondono con la musica classica, da camera e celtica accompagnando videoclip tratti da film di ogni tipo. Ascolterete Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Ludovico Einaudi, Chopin, Mogwai e tanti altri autori... dal metal più soft e malinconico fino alla musica classica. Sabato 25 aprile, TTevents e Radio for my spacers presentano i Soul Rebels in concerto al Parco Gondar di Gallipoli che, per l’occasione, inaugurerà l’area pub “Welcome to Tijuana”.
La lunga notte tributo al grande Bob Marley inizierà alle ore 20.00 con i dj set dei salentini Radical Vibez e Soulfiero e proseguirà con il concerto dei Soul Rebels, gruppo nato dalla passione comune per il re del reggae. I Soul Rebels sono Bunna, leader degli Africa Unite, Cesko e Valerio Combass Bruno degli Aprés la classe, Manu Pagliara, JahSazzah, Don Skal, Cico -musicisti di Roy Paci- e Grazia Negro. Dopo il concerto la serata proseguirà con una dance hall.
