So far, best known for a long line of timeless house and dance floor masterpieces over the last 8 years. The best is yet to come as he prepares to release an incredible first album - 'Sirvival' - including co-writes with Level 42 and Kenny Thomas among others! Below, we update you on his flourishing DJ career as well as a fountain of music to look forward to…
Consistently, his songs, productions and remixes travel in the record bags of the best in the business: from diverse examples such as Todd Terry, MAW, Tony Humphries, Miguel Migs, Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig, and Joey Negro to Pete Tong, Ben Watt, , Roger Sanchez, Simon Dunmore, Dj Spinna and Seb Fontaine. Just a few champions of his sound and, whether producing as Sir Piers or under his Tarantulaz, SummerHeadz or DirtDiggers monikers, Piers has carved a niche for himself in underground house circles, as well as, in dance scenes across genres as an artist of exceptional ability and promise. 2008 sees his highly respected curious label look forward to a wealthy release schedule.
Those he has worked with and remixed reads like a ‘who’s who’ of today’s scene. Roy Ayers, Groove Armada, Todd Terry, A Tribe Called Quest, Jocelyn Brown, Ananda Project, Lauryn Hill, Kings of Tomorrow and Basement Boys have all received the Sir Piers touch, as have Snoop Dogg, Pharrell, Beyonce & Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, A Tribe Called Quest, Alicia Keys, Angie Stone, Gwen Stefani, Jill Scott and Lionel Richie, reinforcing Piers’ ability to transcend genres whilst maintaining the soulful edge he has become renowned for.
While his memorable releases on labels like Sony, Jive, Mn2s, Soulfuric, King Street and Purple Music have received widespread critical acclaim, it has been Piers’ singles released on his home-grown imprint Curious that have really set tongues wagging. Club smashes, such as, ‘Don’t You Love Me’ and ‘Fool’s Got Nothin’’ featuring Monique Bingham have both enjoyed worldwide success, while his new collaboration with the sultry songbird – ‘They Forgot It’ – gained huge support globally on San Francisco’s OM Records complete with remixes by Marques Wyatt. Yet another example of Piers’ quality writing skills and his unique outlook for a catchy yet credible song. Look out for more news on their eagerly awaited debut Tarantulaz album, also coming this year!
