Blah, Blah, Blah, Blurb

I figured I should put something here in case anybody had the desire to indulge themselves in knowing more about me. Don't want to put too much though. I have problems just like anyone else...maybe more or less than you. My number is "13" if you didn't already get that. I don't particularly care for my name, so call me whatever you want — I've already had 15 other nicknames. Every now and then I enjoy to relax with a beer. I do smoke cigarettes and I have tried to quit before, but I don't really feel like stopping at the moment. Some day I will quit, but not now. Often I think I have too many hobbies or interests. I would have to say the I am a hobbyist gamer (I own a PS3). To get it out now, I am an Apple person and I don't really care for PCs. Oh, I like the Boston Red Sox, but I am from NY — go figure.

Instrumentation

Playing guitar has been a big part of my life and I've been playing for around eight years. The first band I ever played in was called "Blahbasabie," and, yes, I know it is a weird name. There was a story behind the name, though, I will spare you it. Then I played in "A.N.G.R.Y.," which stood for "A New Generation of Rebelling Youth." That lasted for almost two years, but then everyone went to college or went their own way. After A.N.G.R.Y. broke up I went into this 'guitar depression' for over a year and forgot everything I used to play. A few years later I played in Fetal Gore Mouse for a short while, but that didn't last too long. Now I make music electronically for my personal music project "To Whom It Concerns" and I basically just do whatever I feel like. Music wise I listen to mainly hardcore/heavy bands, but I do tend to like a wide range of flavors.

Journalism Path

I got the idea to go into Journalism while I was a staff writer for the Hudsonian (HVCC's newspaper) during the Spring 05 semester. During the Fall05-Spring06 I was the creative page editor for the paper. Then during my Spring 07 semester I was the assistant editor for the paper and we also received an award from Student Senate for being the most improved club/organization of the year. I currently attend SUNY New Paltz and major in journalism. Right now I am in my last semester, so I am doing an internship at The Legislative Gazette in Albany, NY. After that, I hope to get out into the world of journalism and hopefully keep a sense of Gonzo alive. One thing I focus on with journalism is my editorial column Salem's Sanity. How I Keep My Sanity

I've been writing poetry for years now and someday I hope to have a book published. I'm not totally sure how that is going to happen, because poetry isn't exactly in demand currently — to say the least. Someday the time is going to be right though. I just have to wait till that time comes I guess. My main influences are Gregory Corso, Anne Sexton, Robert Creeley and Howard Good. Sometimes I post a poem to You're Famous When You're Dead, but I am also trying to get some stuff published in magazines or online poetry zines.

Ending Thought

Being who you are and not trying to be anything else is the most important thing. You only live once, that's what I say at least, so you better do it now or do it never. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something, because if you don't believe in yourself then you will never accomplish your dreams.
