Born & Raised in the city of Los Angeles, Sistah Centzi emerged as an artist/activist in the urban ranch farms of the San Gabriel Valley. At the age of sixteen her art/activism lead her to want to be a part of a movement guiding her to be a part of her first musical project known as "Moodswings" a young Feminist Punk band that flooded the SGV Punk Scene back in the days of the late ninties. From here a singer/song writter was born and as she evolved in her art/activism, her love for music also evolved guiding her to become a founder of "Todos Vuelven" a political, social-cultural band that can be described as a musical fusion that exposed the injustices within our communities. Continuing in her growth as an artist/activist she joined the all female group Known as "Cihuatl Tonali" and was an active member for the eight year duration of that extrordinary project ending with the completion of their album "NO Nesesitamos Pedir Permiso Para Ser Libres" (We Don't Need Permission To Exist). Sistah Centzi continues to evolve as vocalist/Song writter exploring all types of genres and being open minded to the abilty of creating music. She has worked with other artist such as "Quinto Sol","War Club", "Indho", "Detox", "Xavier Chavez", "Dj Element", and continues to build up her Individual Portfolio as an artist/actist. Sistah Centzi Is currently a member/Founder of the Hip-Hop/ Reggae Trio known as "Guerrilla Queenz" and is currently working in releasing their fisrt album by the end of 2008. Always using art as a weapon to fight the injustices done on to her and her community and especially our Mother Earth. Sistah Centzi will continue to make music that makes you feel all different types of emotions and she plans to personalize her art even more as she prepares to release her solo album in 2009. Look out for her music as she will forever continue making songs to move the people and use her gift to uplift the Nation.
Our family recently suffered a devastating loss. However we understand the cycles life and for now all we can do is honor and REPLICATE the example of life that our Brother left behind as his legacy. The loss of our Brother Lalo and his beautiful daughter was felt all through out the hemisphere without a doubt. He stood for unity and Strictly Movement; and by his actions uplifted the warrior spirit of his family, comrades and Nation on a daily basis... The following painting is being auctioned throughout the months of September and October and all proceeds will be donated to the Angulo family. Let's show our brother's family solidarity and make an effort to lend them a helping hand in these hard times.
