About me:
How it all began..... SistahSpeak began as a small group of women meeting together and sharing poetry...stories and good conversation. Soon it was clear that a living room which is where they started...would not be enough. The members of SC3 Productions LLC saw the need for this positive outlet and began what is now a monthly open mic event that brings out the nations best poets and performers. Now in it's 7th year Sistahspeak is entering a new era with events planned throughout 2009 and into 2010. SistahSpeak is and will always be dedicated to positive self expression and the growth of our community. Don't just read about it...come out and experience something truly awesome. Although we are deeply rooted in the LGBT community we also encourage men and women of all walks of life to participate.Who I'd like to meet:

GAY AND SAVED
THIS STORY IS BASED ON A CHURCH CHOIR DIRECTOR NAMED, "STEFFON'. STEFFON HAS A GREAT RELATIONSHIP WITH 4 FRIENDS/CHURCH FAMILY MEMBERS. TWO ARE MAKE AND THEY ARE GAY. TWO ARE FEMALE AND THEY ARE LESBIANS. NOW THROUGHOUT HIS LIFE, STEFFON HAS BEEN TAUGHT THAT ALL GAY AND LESBIAN PEOPLE ARE NOT PEOPLE OF GOD. BUT STEFFON HAS NOTICED THRIGH HIS WALK WITH GOD, THAT THE GAY COMMUNITY IS VERY PRESENT IN CHURCH. NOT ONLY IN HIS CHURCH, BUT THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. WHICH LEAVES HIM TO WONDER CAN A PERSON BE "GAY AND SAVED" OR DOES ONLY STRAIGHT SINNERS GO TO HEAVEN.

I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D
