Who is Sista Pia?
Sista Pia is a singer, emcee and poet from Melbourne who has graced the mic as an emcee for ten years, but more impressively, has been singing her whole life. It’s not hard to tell that she knows what she is doing when it come to the music.
Not only has Sista Pia been rapping for ten years, but she has been writing other forms of poetry for fifteen years showing that she has the dedication to keep doing what she does, and along with that drive is a great deal of talent. How do I know? Well, Sista Pia has not only won one poetry competition, but placed first on multiple occasions, so for you skeptics, it should be obvious that it isn’t by luck.
With all this talent, it’s hard to believe that Sista Pia is as shy as she is. In reality, she should be extremely confident, but an artist doesn’t usually follow the rules of conformity and she is definitely an artist.
In regards to being an artist, she isn’t only a performing artist but a visual artist, so you don’t only feel what she feels through the ear, but you can also see it through her paintings, drawings and artistic designs.
To top it all off, she has experience in modeling and is willing to do any music videos if she is needed for them. Sista Pia also stated that she “…would love to act in drama, [it is] my dream.”
But where does all this talent come from? Well it comes from a number of factors. The most obvious being her passion, in which she stated that “…singing is my passion…emceeing comes second…” and she probably wouldn’t be Sista Pia if she didn’t have her music. This isn’t her only source though.
Growing up in the struggle is difficult, probably why they call it the struggle, and it can be even more difficult if there is no way of expressing the pain. In response to this pain, she writes rhymes, poetry, sings and partakes in many other forms of art as a means of expression. In her words “I write rhymes to get s**t off my chest…”
Her last source of inspiration comes from being a mother. Even though this leaves her too busy to do everything she wants to and doesn’t give her enough time to do all she humanly can, she still seems to produce some great works. Maybe if she had that extra time she wouldn’t be as passionate as she is.
After knowing a little bit about Sista Pia, you can now safely say that she is one very talented lady with a lot of passion and drive to not only go big, but further than that.
