   Sisters' Camelot's Blurbs
About me:
Mobile food shelf providing organic produce and other items to communities all over the Twin Cities since 1997!!!.

For almost 12 years, Sisters' has been rescuing food that would be wasted by a system that commodifies food, instead giving that food out for to the "Others" in our community. We are a registered non-profit, but have recently adopted a collective structure to better reflect our ideals. We believe that capitalism is a flawed system of economics, that the "democracy" we live in is a flawed system of governance, and that global environmental problems are leading us to the brink of collapse. Our contribution as a collective is to provide a model of governance based on consensus, a form of economics based on providing for everyone's needs, and soon we will be unveiling our new veggie oil powered foodshare bus to show an alternative to the petrochemical chokehold we are in. We believe in breaking out of lifestyles politics and "professional activism", and working within our neighborhoods to positively affect those without the privilege(skin, class, etc) to take the risks we take for granted. Check out our website WWW.SISTERSCAMELOT.ORG or pop in and say howdy at 2657 32nd Ave S (B) in South Side (seward neighborhood...right off the greenway)! Minneapolis

SEE YOU IN THE STREETS!!

Mark your calendars! Sunday, Dec 6th local decolonization
group Unsettling Minnesota will host "An Evening of Reparations" at the
Intermedia Arts Center located at 2822 Lyndale Avenue South in
Minneapolis.
"An Evening of Reparations" is a chance to come together and enjoy an
evening of entertainment, with a little dose of history. Through genocide
and land theft, the Dakota Oyate currently control less than 1% of their
original landbase. This event will raise funds for ongoing
Dakota land reclamation and cultural projects, is a chance to stand in
solidarity with the original people of this land, and to build a stronger
base for local decolonization movement. All funds raised will go directly
towards a Dakota-organized land project for a traditional maple sugar
bush and wild rice camp. We are also holding a silent
auction, so come ready to bid on local artisan crafts and services.
Doors open at 6:00pm, dinner till 8:30. The dinner will
include vegan, meat, and gluten-free options. Stick around afterwards
for dancing to live music beginning at 9:00!
This event will be 18+ with wine and beer for donations. Tickets for a
full meal with dessert and drink are $25. Music tickets $10.
To RSVP email eveningofreparations@gmail.com with RSVP in the subject line. Purchase Tickets at:
Mayday Cafe (3440 Bloomington Ave)
Mayday Books (301 Cedar Avenue South, downstairs)
Arise Books (2441 Lyndale Avenue South)
Fast and Furless (2615 E Franklin Avenue)

One Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they
think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what
makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.
