About me:
It's our 10th year!!!!!! so we're having a series of fundraisers/birthday parties. Some of them will be shared with other meaningful local collectives. let us know if you'd like to help or if your band wants to play one of them. keep checking back for more! Mobile food shelf providing organic produce and other items to communities all over the Twin Cities for almost 10 years.

For almost 10 years, Sisters' has been rescuing food that would be wasted by a system that commodifies food, instead giving that food out for to the "Others" in our community. We are a registered non-profit, but have recently adopted a collective structure to better reflect our anarchist ideals. We believe that capitalism is a flawed system of economics, that the "democracy" we live in is a flawed system of governance, and that global environmental problems are leading us to the brink of collapse. Our contribution as a collective is to provide a model of governance based on consesus, a form of economics based on providing for everyones needs, and soon we will be unveiling our new veggie oil powered foodshare bus to show an alternative to the petrochemical chokehold we are in. We believe in breaking out of lifestyles politics and "professional activism", and working within our neighborhoods to positively affect those without the privilege(skin, class, etc) to take the risks we take for granted. Check out our website WWW.SISTERSCAMELOT.ORG or pop in and say howdy at 3649 Chicago Ave in South Side! Minneapolis

SEE YOU IN THE STREETS!!

This May, Minnesota will be celebrating its Sesquicentennial (150 Years of Statehood). While Dakota people have questioned what is being celebrated, the State of Minnesota stands by an imperialist narrative that promotes white innocence and Dakota guilt in order to justify policies of encroachment, forced removal, and genocide.

Opposition to the sesquicentennial events is one way for Dakota (and all native people) people to not only honor our ancestors by acknowledging the suffering they endured, but it is also a chance to tell the truth about Minnesota's shameful ethnic cleansing of its Indigenous people.

We ask Dakota people, other Native people, and Minnesota’s non-Native citizenry to support us in this opportunity to demand a narrative of truth and the decolonization of the Dakota homeland Minnesota Makoce (Land Where the Waters Reflect the Skies).

Friday, May 9:
We are calling for banner drops across the Twin Cities about the true nature of Minnesota’s history.
4-6 P.M. Rally along the walkway of the Mendota Bridge

Sunday May 11:
9:30 A.M. Gather at Tipi Wakan (Mounds Park, St. Paul)
11:00 AM March begins to State Capitol to protest the opening of the Sesquicentennial events

On Wednesday, February 13th,
at 11:00 a.m., in the Capitol Rotunda,
over 1000 ex-offenders, their family members and supporters of justice system reform will come together to highlight the importance of second chances. This effort is being lead by a consortium of non-profit leaders and justice system advocates. On behalf of this consortium, we are asking for your support in drawing statewide and national attention and in raising the awareness about the barriers facing individuals with criminal records.
There are currently 155,000 Minnesota adults under some form of correctional supervision; 142,000 on probation, 4,200 on some level of supervised release, and 9,100 in prison. And there are at least as many with a criminal record who have satisfied all the requirements of their sentence. This equates to one in every sixteen Minnesotans having the stigma of a conviction they must overcome to qualify for housing, employment and student loans, among other things.
Legislatively we have created nearly 200 collateral sanctions over and above the penalties associated with a conviction.
We ask that you and your organization support “Second Chance Day on the Hill” on February 13, 2008 by recruiting individuals to come to the capitol. It is time for us to come together and make the all too often invisible problems facing individuals with criminal records visible.

Greetings,

Thanks for adding us. Your support is much appreciated.

What do you think of these newly discovered crime scene photos (viewed at Abu-Jamal-News.com)?

I have been personally contacting every mainstream media person I could find and still the only place that has published the actual photo is the national Black newspaper, The SF Bay View.

This just the latest episode in a long history of corporate media bias (and arguably racism) towards Mumia and other political prisoners.
