Weltmusik plus Drum'n'Bass-Beats, kreativ und live gespielt, arrangiert mit indischen Instrumenten, wunderschoenen Vocals und wohldosierten Electronics - das ist sitar beat East meets West oder Orient trifft Okzident - dieses Crossover-Projekt verbindet Tagore-Lieder (Bengalen) und Mantren mit westlichem Groove und Instrumenten wie Drums, Bass, Electronics und Trumpet zu einem Style ueber Ambient, Chillout, indischen Trip-Hop, Elektronika und Weltmusik. Initiiert wurde das Projekt durch das Dresdner Musiker-Paar Doreen Seidowski-Faust und Mario Faust. Beide studierten in Dresden und Indien Instrumentalspiel bzw. Gesang. Sitar beat kreist nicht um sich selbst, sondern sucht die Herausforderung. Experimentelles Spiel (neben der Komposition) bestimmt das Konzept und so gibt sich die Liste der Gaeste exotisch und exklusiv: Shanka Chatterjee (tabka, Kalkutta), Nader Khafif (oud, Damaskus), Pandit Kamalesh Maitra (tabla, Kalkutta), Pt.Debendra Kanti Chakrawarty (tabla, Kalkutta), Soumik Datta (sarod, London) und D. Sujana (vina, Madras).
