BIO
Citadel is a power trio born in 2002 when Fred MARTIN-BOUYER (Lead vocals and guitar) Michael GALAND (Drums) and Julien ZORDAN (Bass) met themselves. The three musicians are from Paris, France and have very good rehearsal possibilities (stage and recording studio) in a musical facility. The band could work on great sound design and lighting.
A modern and powerful rock, close to metal and math-rock, influenced by bands like The fall of Troy, Muse, We Insist!, Kyuss...
Shows started to be planned and Citadel plays first part for many famous French bands and plays as much as they can in Parisian venues. To offer the audience great shows, the band moves with his own technical staff (lights / sound)
The band is particularly attentive to the writing process and to the live rendering. They have many influences from pop to progressive rock and prefer to try new sounds than to use again and again the old recipes of the bands of the past decades. Even if the band likes to explore new ways to construct pieces of music, they keep in mind the importance of musicality so that everybody could enjoy their music.
The lyrics of Citadel are in English. The band says that the lyrics are dealing with feelings expressed by characters living in the future, post apocalyptical. The band develops many references to science fiction and anticipation movies in their music, always powerful and with some kind of grandeur.
A second album was released in October 2006 and distributed by MUSEA (who distributes some titles of pink-floyd, king crimson, yes) The band is now booking gigs and prepares its next album in its studio in France. Release in september 2009!

XROADS 4 étoiles Electric Mary transpire si naturellement le rock’n’roll que le quintette semble avoir été touché de plein fouet par la Grâce. Il vous est IMPOSSIBLE de passer à côté d’un tel monument !
HARD ROCK MAGAZINE 8/10 decembre-janvier 2009 Bref, Electric Mary nous propose avec Down To The Bone, un album intemporel et surtout bien électrique que l’on peut rapprocher de Led Zep ou Black Crowes.
NIGHTFALL IN METAL EARTH Un jour viendra nous devrons inévitablement nous défaire des vieilles gloires du hard rock qui ont écrit l’Histoire. Il nous faudra alors trouver une relève qui tient la route, inventive, pêchue et respectueuse de ses aînés. Pour ma part, elle est toute trouvée : Electric Mary. Les hits potentiels pullulent sur ce disque.
