Most people who meet Sivil Syko recognize, in no time, that he is one determined man. Sivil, a rapping, singing, song-writing, producer, cannot be considered anything but a well-rounded artist. He even considers himself “The Perfect Blend”. He is known for bringing real-life subject matter and laying it over melodic tracks, with the intent of pulling emotion out of a listener. When asked if there was anything that he could not do, Sivil quickly replied, “If I can’t do it, I can learn to do it.” The sincerity in his voice assured me of his desires.
At 25 years old, Sivil Syko has been writing songs and rapping for over 13 years. He began simply to ventilate his frustrations. After reciting some of his material, and receiving a positive response from classmates, he knew that music was the only path for him. He also turned to performing in freestyle battles for some time. It started at the lunch table, but soon thereafter he found himself standing on a stage, where he garnered reactions from hundreds of absolute strangers, who quickly accepted his magnetic persona and witty cuts towards competitors. Crowds began cheering him towards absolute victory. Recently he has been more into writing serious songs that relate to you, the listener, as opposed to talking trash about the next man. He hopes to lyrically influence future generations of artists, who he says, “… don’t have access to the substance that there was when I was young.”
Sivil began producing his own beats about 6 years ago, out of necessity. With the resources he had available, Sivil Syko was unable to find talented producers who were as focused as he was on achieving the greatness that he desired, he decided to take beat-making into his own hands. As a self-taught producer he started with a trial and error method, added his desire to constantly improve, subtracted many nights of sleep and is now where you may find him, bringing his own style of uniqueness to an industry that is beginning to lack differentiation. He took a similar approach towards his decision to sing. After an inability to find any singers dedicated to breaking into the industry and a need to incorporate his love for R&B into his music, he began singing. He told me, “It started out rough….” He gained approval from the fan base he had been establishing, and his decision was then confirmed, as with every aspect he delivers he will not stop his work towards improving.
Sivil Syko is not just an artist. He wears many hats. Father and college student are among them. As a single father of two boys, Sivil is constantly striving to be a better role model for his children, who he hopes, as every parent does, that they will grow to be contributing members of society. With the example that he sets it is hard to believe that they will be anything but. His work ethic, near impossible to exceed, and having dreams that are so close, it is easy to see why he tells his kids that anything is possible. He hopes that you will feel the same as you go through your life. Accomplish your goals and chase your dreams.
