  • Bio

six10repeater are a band from Manchester who set out with the intention to play music that would fill stadiums, epic and long lasting. They are; Stuart Armstrong: vocals/guitars/keys, Chris Tweedie: drums/vocals. six10repeater was born in late 2007 and the trio clicked instantly and straight away began recording with local producer Christophe (The Frenchman) who has worked with the likes of Hard-Fi, Clint Boon and Kid British. Quickly earning themselves a reputation as one of Manchesters best live acts, six10repeater won "Best Unsigned Band" on Xfm in march 2008 as well as doing a live session for Clint Boon. Soon after the band had two tracks featured on the vastly popular computer game "Pro Evolution Soccer 09" (Today Somehow and Hearts & Nails) as well as the "Pro Evolution" album. Various sessions on BBC radio Manchester, Manchester radio online and other local radio stations led to gigs supporting the likes of Kid British, Baby Shambles, Nine Black Alps and Status Quo. six10repeater released their first single "Grounded" independantly in January 2010 and is available to download now on iTunes. PRESS "If it's searing, honest epic rock songs you are after, six10repeater are the three shifty blokes at the back of the room who can provide it. They are one of those rock bands who make you want to throw your beer in the air and mount the stage to join in the fun. Hamstrung by a late slot they faced a few technical problems but singer Stu Armstrong's powerful vocals soon put the crowd in his hands. Their song off the soundtrack of the Pro Evolution 2009 footy game, Today Somehow, was a blinder which makes you tingle as you rock your sweat soaked torso back and forward. Grounded – their next single – was a heartfelt warning about going on drinking benders and the superb Spitfire Cupid gave Armstrong the chance to show off his amazing finger work to delight the crowd. Armstrong doesn't move to the music, he flails in it. He doesn't strut onstage; in fact he is lucky to keep his balance when thrashing his guitar. It's amazing. Meanwhile Chris Tweedie hammers the drums expertly and Dan Baybutt provides the thick bass lines. The result is something akin to a booze-soaked Nirvana." - Phil Fielding, The Daily Sport "six10repeater do proper rock music, fuelled with guitar riffs, topped with soaring vocals and nailed together with tight choruses. It is stubbornly epic music, made to fill vast arenas. You can't fault such ambition and if they can come up with more songs as catchy and breathless as Two Lovers, they'll be well on their way to playing those stadiums." - Chris Long, BBC Radio Manchester "six10repeater are a belting rock outfit that had me wishing I could dump my gear and join in the fun. I did however manage to grab a promo CD from the stage and it has stayed in the CD player in the car since." - Mike Gatiss, Music Photographer "Made to fill vast stadiums", this is what's on the lips of those in the industry that have had the chance to hear six10repeater play. Popular seems to be six10repeaters fate, and such an insatiable creative appetite guarantees this is only the beginning. They understand the importance of getting the songs right and the production is solid. They have been quick out of the gates, but have still managed to keep the standard high. I'm sure you'll hear a lot more from these guys in the future. Focused, creative and ambitious is a cocktail hard to ignore." - Michael Smith, 4Q Magazine.
