Hi, I’m Dave. David Lee Hoskins to be exact. I was born long ago in a mythical time when people listened to music live in person or on disks called 45s (singles) or LPs (albums).
My parents tried to raise me right, so my first exposure to music was in church where we used to have these touring gospel bands that would blow through town staying just long enough to bless the locals, collect an offering, and sell a few LPs, before heading on down the road.
I pretty much wanted to be a gospel singer for the first six years of my life.
Then one night my baby sitter turned me on to the Beatles and I suddenly wanted to play rock-n-roll guitar more than anything else in the whole wide world.
Well I guess that’s all history now and here I am a full-grown man: And I still want to play guitar more than anything else in the whole wide world. Cool huh?
I started SIXBENTSTRINGS so I could make a living writing and performing guitar-driven music both for others and myself. And I wake up every day feeling excited and privileged to be living my dream.
Yeah, I know I left out a lot of stuff that happened along the way, but I really don't feel comfortable sharing that with people I don't know personally. Want to know more about me? Listen to my music. It's all in there.
