It was in january1986 while living in vancuver b.c. canada,that rhodney put together "six billion monkeys" named after and based upon a song of the same title he had wriitten.their first single "the sun is shining",produced by paul hyde,was realeased in august of that year.recieving massive airplay.after many promises which didn't turn out and reduced to 4 in february of 1987 teaming up once again with producer paul hyde recorded their double single,"six billion monkeys" and "swaying to the beat".a masterpiece but unfortunately the hip-hop rave was sweeping in from america.it was decided to gamble and move six billion monkeys to england,not an easy task,many where lost.in june 1988 the double single was realeased.while at first the gamble looked like it had failed,interest from spain,soon turned it into a hit acrooss europe and into america.returning to vancouver,rhodney,recorded the follow up,"it's a picnic",not realising that when he sang "the death sword is hanging" that this was going to come true for shortly after his return to england rhodney suffered a serious road accident which nearly brought an end to the creator but which brought an end to the created "six billion monkeys" but which has risen like a phoenix.
