Six Foot Children started out in 2002, out of the ashes of an established local UK Essex band called DOREEN.
With Lee on Drums, Zoe on Bass and Tim fronting the band the three piece were Loud, Real and Passionate. Tim’s Strat was fitted with a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pick up, and the secret weapon, a Russian ‘Big Muff’ pedal completed the Childrens sound. Original band member Lee left in 2005, and Alex, who played drums for ‘Doreen’ way back in the good ol’ 1990’s, then re established the chemistry and the album 'Occident' was recorded in the same year. Unfortunately due to constraints on Al's time for the band (roadie for the young knives), live gigs became few and far between. A chance meeting with a blast from the past reunited Tim and Zoe with Aron - a good friend who they had lost touch with for a number of years, Aron was so impressed with the album he learnt the songs and added some great harmonies too. When Aron left in 2006, an opportunity arose to utilise the songs of Mr Smith, which were being worked on with fellow musicians Troop and Dan from local Band CARVER.
So a change in musical direction for 6FC too.
The Future . . .
After fufilling an ambition to live in New Zealand, Tim & Zoe have eventually made it to Christchurch in the South Island. Sadly Troop and Dan would not fit in the suitcase and they will be sorely missed.
Tim & Zoe are now on the look out for a drummer and guitarist to continue the 6FC mission Kiwi Style!
Please contact us if you are a musician in Christchurch and you are interested in getting together.
Thanks guys :>)
Hey guys hows it going? Just checking in to say hello.
Went down temple farm for the first time in ages last week, in fact first time since the last 6FC practice! Just had a listen to the 6FC songs on here and Tim's page, so many great memories attached! Really miss rocking out down the farm on sunday afternoons! Was weird seeing Lol's burnt out garage.
