Six Foot Sissy is a band fronted by a 6'4" wordsmith who's musings include NBA folklore, youthful tripping at the county mall, and the absurd, if not harmless, self-importance that has driven hip-hop culture over the past twenty years. Dole arrives onstage in monastic robes and long blonde wigs to rhyme about his childhood memories of Hip-Hop-Meets-the-Suburban world, while the band captures a fresh sound with a unique sense of humor and style. His offbeat stage presence and tendency for dozing off mid performance keeps the band at a safe, self-mocking distance from the trap of taking themselves at all too seriously.
Six Foot Sissy creates music with intriguing melodies and unwavering backbeats that serve as the foundation of their explosive live performance. Meanwhile, Dole is the charming embodiment of self-effacement onstage. His words are charged with a conversational, humorous, often sarcastic, folk-hip hop style, and are delivered and designed to place as little importance on life's daily grind as possible.
Six Foot Sissy has just released their debut recording, "The State Of New York".
