Christchurch hardcore band - Sixlip Started in 2003. In the beginning, 4 Christchurch homeboys wanted to create a straight up and honest hardcore band. Around the same time they were further inspired by New Zealand and Australian hardcore bands like Evil Priest, One Must Fall, Against and Shot Point Blank who were taking hardcore to the next level at the time. 



Through the years they played some memorable national and international shows with the likes of Most Precious Blood, Antagonist, The Bleeders. Sixlip destroyed crowds with their straight up hardcore and inciting many a pit. The band’s sound and work ethic caught the eye of a few labels nationally and internationally. 



In 2005 they released their first self titled on Broken Hill Records. This Ep Did well and truly put the band out there. Time has gone by since then; but in 2008 Sixlip headed out on there first international tour heading over to Australia for and 8 show stint before returning to record their debut new album. The album was recorded at Broken Hill Records studios in Christchurch, with the legendary all round good guy Nick Jett from fame of Terror, DonnyBrook and Piece by Piece. Nick took the debut album the the next level of where we needed to be heading and with its impending release in late 2008 should be an eye opener for the local, national and international hardcore scene.
