    Six Mile Express is made up of young men from East Tennessee ranging from 17-20 years old who attend or have attended the University of Tennessee, Hiwassee College and home school programs. They met at Rocky Branch Community Center and have played together for many local events. They all started playing from a very young age. The group explores a variety of music including Bluegrass, Jazz, Celtic, Funk, and even some Reggae. Will Tate plays piano, banjo, guitar, mandolin, steel guitar, Dobro and bass. He currently attends Hiwassee College and is majoring in Forestry. Matt Nelson plays bass and electric bass. He currently attends the University of Tennessee and is double majoring in jazz and classical bass. Garrett Gregg plays guitar and banjo. He is attending the University of Tennessee and is majoring in Forestry. Gavin Gregg plays mandolin and bass. He currently is in Highschool and is home-schooled. Thomas Cook plays percussion. He attends the University of Tennessee for Engineering

"This local bluegrass group is made up of Blount County teenagers ranging from 16-18 years old who attend or have attended William Blount High School, Heritage High School and home school programs. They met at Rocky Branch Community Center and have played together for many local events. Will Tate plays piano, banjo, guitar, mandolin, steel guitar, Dobro and bass. Jake Kagley plays bass.
