SIX MONTHS LATER CALLS “TIME OUT ON THE FIELD”
OCTOBER 14, 2005 (LONG ISLAND, NY) – After countless shows, the release of an official EP and numerous leaked recordings, as well the usual blood, sweat, and financial drain that comes with being a band, Six Months Later has decided to go on hiatus.
Dave Anderson (vocals, bass) has released this statement:
“After having three individual lives interweaved for such a long time, there are moments where everyone involved just has to take a step back and breathe for themselves. We have been working on new material and discussing recording for the past month or two and hopefully that will happen at some point, we’re just not sure when.”
As of press time, the rest of the band could not be reached for comment, however any further statements will be released in a timely manner.
Six Months Later's roots go back to the band member's high school years when Jarrett and Anthony played in One Last Goodbye and Rise and Fall respectively with Vin from Brand New and Sean from All Grown Up. Six Months Later has existed since 2003. In these two years, it has changed it's lineup several times. Usually a 4-person band, Six Months Later is currently a 3-piece with each member taking on multiple instrument duty.
Six Months Later's roots go back to the band member's high school years when Jarrett and Anthony played in One Last Goodbye and Rise and Fall respectively with Vinnie from Brand New, and Sean from All Grown Up. After everyone went their separate ways, Jarrett and Anthony decided to put together a new band. Drummers came and went, but singer/guitarist Dave made the cut. Dave was formerly the frontman for one of the numerous bands named Entropy and the bass player for Oneiric.
While the "Long Island Sound" can be heard in the music, Six Months Later adds to it by combining different styles that each member has grown up listening to. Elements of emo, punk, grunge, metal, and classic rock can all be heard throughout the music. The result? Aggressive music with harmony, power ballads minus the cheese of 80's hair bands, pop-ish anthems minus the MTV "making the band" factor, big guitar solos minus the big hair and tight leather pants.
