  • Bio

6packadelia started 4 or 5 years ago on many a different porches consuming many a different beers. It usually involved acoustic guitars and hazy ideas of story and melody. Stray Dog and Dyin Mule were the founding members with a cast of characters to follow. Dog and Mule wanted to do something simple and fun that involved only a 4-track and a couple of microphones for recording. Both Dog and Mule write songs so the album is a culmination of both styles of writing. Dog writes poppy love ditties that usually end abruptly while Mule writes clever ballads that leave you laughing or crying or both.

Have you heard the latest episode of Not Another Locals' Show!?  If not, stop by and check us out.  Not Another Locals' Show is a podcast hosted by the guys at Not Another Local Band!  Frank and Beans spin local discs and mp3's, talk about local Memphis music and whatever else comes along!  Every week, there's a new and funny episode uploaded!  And if you're not familiar to the whole podcast thing, you don't need an iPod to listen!

You can listen to the current and past podcasts on our website (www.notanotherlocalband.com) as well as on our host at Libsyn (http://notanotherlocalshow.libsyn.com).  You can download, subscribe or listen to streaming audio!

Episode 3 is up now featuring music by:  Organ Thief, Life by Inches, The Raleigh Symphony, So She Sang and Slam Hound!

Episode 4 can be uploaded this Thursday where Frank and Beans will have music by The Lights, Roger Mexico, Augustine, The Coach and Four and The American Radio!

Let us know if there's a band you'd like to hear - or hear more often!  In our first month of podcasting, we've earned an impressive and ever growing audience stretching across the Midsouth, the U.S. and internationally (yes, we have the stats to prove it)!  Send us some feedback and help us give local Memphis the exposure it deserves!

So far, these local bands get it; do you?!?
Chess Club, Arma Secreta, The Adversary, Hey Heidi-Rae, Perspective, Antique Curtains, Aurora, The Acorns, Josephus and the George Jonestown Massacre, Yes No Maybe, Holly Cole, Life by Inches, Slam Hound, the Raleigh Symphony, Organ Thief, So She Sang, Roger Mexico, Augustine, The Coach and Four, The American Radio, the Lights...
